"Being a part of this curse sucks!" I shouted at mother, the queen.
"It is not a curse Lamadia, but a blessing, every female in our bloodline is the most beautiful. Why can't you see that?" Marina, my mother, lectured me. As always.
"I just don't see why I have to wear this horrid veil to cover my face!" I yelled at her, annoyed.
"Just wear it, we have a meeting with the King in the neighbouring country, it's for an alliance." She said as she left my room.
I looked at my face annoyed at why my beauty had to be covered up. My emerald eyes stared back at me with the same annoyance. My maid came in to help me get dressed. I was ten now I could dress myself, no one else seemed to understand that.
She did my hair, adjusted my veil and downstairs I went, off to join my mother, father and older brother, older by eleven minutes.
As mother was in my room taking a look at new dresses on me, I looked down at the barracks. "Mother can I learn how to fight?" She looked shocked at my question.
"No." She answered, I was kind of expecting that.
"Why not, you won't let me do anything else?" I answered back still gazing at the barracks.
"I'll speak to your father about it" and with that she made her decision on what to have made and left the room. Leaving me alone.
