Chapter 4

Never in my life had I expected it to be Neveah. The nerd of the school! Actually not. She was not like the silent blushing girls. She was much more. She was one of those bitchy, arrogant, rude, irritating girls and I couldn't help but fall in love with her.

Yes, I Easton Dale was completely in love with Neveah Huber who completely hates me!

When I told Xavier, he made fun of her for total of thirty seconds before I punched him square in the face. No one ever makes fun of my mate.  

Now that I have my mate, I am more capable to be a good Alpha that my pack wants and needs. There was a ceremony in the afternoon after which I start my duties. Along with me Xavier will be given the rights of the beta and Alden, the third in command.  

Alden had also found his mate and it turned out to be Melissa, the head cheerleader of the school. I was more than happy hearing the news because it meant that she will leave me alone.  

Alden on the other hand was depressed. He didn't want her because she had been with many guys. Even though people think that I have slept with her, it is not true. I have never been with anyone from the pack. I would have been weird for my mate and the female if they come face to face. I am their leader, not their lover.

I was pretty much surprised at the choice of mate for me, but not disappointed, never. Fate was on our side because she was paired with me for the project. When she told me that she wanted to do the project, I was scared. I can't be away from her, ever! But I was too shocked to protest.  

But when she came to me the second time, I was ready to protest. But the second time, she told me that she was forced to work with me. This time, I jumped on the opportunity. I told her that I will help her on the project, no matter what. 

The ceremony started at about four in the afternoon. The whole pack was present along with my father, the alpha. The whole alpha family takes part in the ceremony. Since it was just me and my Dad, it will get over early. The whole pack was in a big clearing where I and dad stood in the center facing each other with the pack surrounding us. The elder of the pack stood in front of us who will be conducting the ceremony.  

'The time has come. Today is the day when the positions will be passed on to the younger warriors if the pack. Today the current Alpha will retire from his duties placing his heir in his place. Along with him, the positions of second and third in command will also be handed over. With the blessings of the fates and the moon Goddess, let the position be handed over.'  

'I, Peter Dale, alpha of the pack hand over my title, position and my pack to you.'  

'I Easton Dale accept the position and the pack and promise it to take care of their need along with my Beta and the Alpha Female.' I couldn't help but smile when I said Alpha Female.  

Neveah will be an amazing Luna. One of a kind! 

The ceremony finished with an amazing meal. That is what the guy of my age thinks about. Food and girls. Or in my case, my mate, my Neveah. 

In the night, I was due a meal with my cousin's family. Elena was my uncle's daughter. She was my age and was human. Her mother was not my uncle's mate, she was just a normal human. So their children also turn out to be human. Only a child of a mate having at least one parent as a wolf can be born as one too. Otherwise, they turn out to be human like in Elena's case.  

I had promised her that as soon as I become alpha, I will give her a party, but the party ended up as a family dinner.  

I was currently sitting with her family at a famous restaurant when I took in the most amazing smell.  

There was my mate Neveah wearing a cream dress looking hot! She entered with a old man who had his arm around his shoulder. Who was he? He has no rights to touch my mate. Behind her entered a woman who looked like Neveah. She was Gina, her mother. I knew that she had no father, so who was the man? Gina and the man smiled at each other. The way they looked at each other was the same way mates look at each other. So it must be the boyfriend. I was busy looking at them that I didn't notice that along with me the whole table was looking towards her.  

'Is there anything you need to tell us?'  

'She is my mate.' 

'Does she know?' 

I was busy looking at the bit of cleavage popping instead of paying attention to what my uncle was saying.  

'What?' 

'She is human,' Elena concluded.  

'Unfortunately, yes.' If Neveah was a shifter like me, we would have mated by now. I looked towards her again to find her looking at me. I could see that she was hurt that I was with some other female. I liked it, so did my wolf.  

I know that she will have thoughts of me because of the bond. She doesn't know the reason and that may upset her.  

Elena went to the washroom and Neveah followed her.  

'Want me to give your introduction to her mother?' Uncle asked. 'Do you know her?' 

'No, I know the man with her. He heads a firm of lawyers. Come on let's go.'

All of us went to his table and Uncle and the man had a talk. I was patiently waiting for my hot mate to get out of the washroom. She was taking too long.  

I came to know that the man was Brian and he was Gina's boyfriend just as I suspected. 

I introduced myself to Gina. She was a lovely woman. Elena joined us after sometime and after a few seconds, Neveah came back.  

Close up, she looked fantastic. All I wanted to do was to take her against the wall or the table or maybe both. She had red lipstick which made her plump lips look better and I wanted to do nothing but kiss her and if we didn't have an audience, I would have done so.  

'Hello Neveah, such a pleasant surprise to meet you.' I tried to be nice but I don't think it worked. 

'Is it really pleasant for you to see me?' That hurt. I know that we were not friends but she could have been a bit more polite. I blanked my face and replied, 'of course Neveah.' She was trying to analyze whether I was lying or not. I wasn't.  

We said our goodbyes and left.

As I was in my bed, I was thinking of ideas to bring Neveah closer to me. I can't go on long without her.

Neveah Gail Huber, you will be mine.

the chapter didn't turn out like I expected it. Morover, Easton's Pov is difficult to write. I'll stick to her Pov from next time.
