Scarlett looks out from the broken window of this place she calls a rat house. She pulls the dirty curtain aside to see what's outside. The world is still dull. The Sun isn't doing a very good job at lighting the streets. The streets are dirty since as long as she could remember.

10 years ago was the revolution. The revolution of the Antagonists, fighting back for what's truly theirs. The Weak were separated from the Strong, then they created 2 groups. The Strong creates an army, gathers and holds each other into a group of rebels. They call themselves the Antagonist.

The Weak supplied food and combat for the Strong's final attack. Scarlett was only 6 when the revolution happened. She was in the stadium when it happened, helping the Weak prepare food.

Her mother was one of the Weak as her father joins the Antagonist group. She doesn't remember if she had any siblings or how her mother looked like. She only remembers that she had a father who has shaggy brown hair and a mother.

"Take care of mommy okay?" Scarlett's father said to her before kissing them both in the forehead. Scarlett then watches him leave with a swarm of men.

The 'Antagonists' – as they liked be called – did no single attack to the government but somehow the government had managed to figure out their plan on attacks and used it against them. Scarlett doesn't know how they knew, no one would tell her anything.

The government then sent soldiers to blow up the stadium the Weak were in. Most of the Weak ended up buried under pieces of concrete. So did Scarlett's mother.

Scarlett woke up from the crash and remembers the horrible ringing sound in her ear and faint cries. Fire's surrounding her as she tries to run out of the building. Her leg was stuck underneath a large piece of concrete but later she was rescued and pulled out of the building to shelter.

She watched from a nearby building as the government blew up the stadium into ashes by dropping explosives from their silent aircraft. All she could think of is what had happened to her father out there. She knows in an instant that her mother is not going to make it. She gets her hands together and prays for her father's survival as she cries because she fails to take care of her mommy into the chest of a stranger. Then, they found a new apartment building that all of them can live in.

Later on, came a deadly disease – most rumors said it's caused by rats and infectious birds – . 2 years after they'd found out, they were lucky that the disease was spreading slow. People who were infected were quarantined – as the scientists believe that the disease can be infective to those who had physical contact with the patient –.

3 years later, after the scientists and doctors try their hardest to look for the cause and cure for the disease but with what's left of their lab equipments and world resources, nothing floats to the surface. The cause and cure of the disease will remain unknown, for now.

---

"Anything, Scar?" yelled a man from behind Scarlett.

Scarlett turns around, adjusting the strap of her sniper, "Nothing for now, Jett!" she yelled back.

She turns back to the window. In her sight, she sees half of the buildings, already crumbled to the ground. The streetlights are dim. The vehicles are covered with dirt and excess rain. The roads are filled with pieces of concrete and pebbles – that would make a sound when you step on them –. Nothing much has changed in the last 10 years. Everything was pretty much the same. No one bothered to do anything, to fix anything.

Scarlett stood there, beside the humongous window – doing her assigned duty –, she thinks about who else is out there, hiding from everything bad. Her usual thoughts. For the past few years, she's not yet seen another human being besides the people she lives with. Jett's group is big, they fit the whole apartment building.
