Three things which are greater than sin:

To consider a sin small

To be happy after committing sin

To announce your sin publicly

Effects of sin

Allah's anger

distanced from Paradise and brought closer to Hellfire

angels are disturbed

Allah's Beloved s.a.w is saddened

the ground on which you commit sin becomes a witness against you

A person becomes proud over his good deeds, considers himself something>>to lower/abase yourself in the eyes of others is easy, but in your own eyes is difficult, but he who lowers his own opinion of himself becomes esteemed in the eyes of Allah.

The person disliked by Allah, Allah punishes him by taking away the pleasures of worship from him. This is a sign of anger of Allah. Another sign is the dryness of the eye, the eye which does not cry for Allah.

Allah is very forgiving, but there are some sins which cause iman (faith) to be snatched away at the time of death. They are three:

The person who is not happy, grateful about being Muslim. Nowadays it's such a time that people hide their Islam from others, and they are sad that they are Muslim. The person who is not happy about being a Muslim, and considers commandments a burden, that person's iman is wasted at the time of death.

The person who is not scared of losing his iman (faith). The people of Allah fear losing their iman due to any deed. The people with iman equal to the mountain of Uhud in their hearts, fear that their iman will be lost.

To harm other people, other Muslims.
