Prologue: Through The Night

I smiled softly as I gave one final glance to my little sister, who slept soundlessly in her bed, her bubblegum pink hair sprawled across her pillow as she held another, that is functioning as my replacement, to her closely.

She is the reason I am leaving. Imoutochan, I am leaving to become strong enough to be able to help guide you through life, to help protect you, but in order to do so I must to be able to fend for myself, learn on my own, become a true Kunoichi.

I felt the tears begin to form in my eyes and my smile begin to fall as my family came to mind, Oka-san, Oto-san, I'll be back before you know it, please take care of Sakura-imouto for me.

I took in a shaky breath of air before leaping silently out of our bedroom window, my landing was swift and painless as I landed on the heels of my feet. Standing up quickly, I tightened the straps of my bag, containing nothing but scrolls, before I ran through the starry night, hiding from Hidden Leaf shinobi that roamed the village, and passed the two entrance guards that seemed to always be asleep, regardless of the time of day.

I'll come back one day, when I'm stronger and can do my job as an older sibling efficiently, this I swear.
