"Liam, wake up." It was an early February morning, and I woke to the sound of Emily's voice calling me to get up. "Liam I said wake up. Quickly." She said and I bolted upright to see her stood on the floor on her side of our bed in her big t-shirt and leggings.

"What? What's wrong? What makes you need to wake me u-" I started to complain when I felt a dribble of liquid drip onto my thigh.

"It's time to have this baby, and he doesn't care what time it is." She took a breath in.

I jumped out of bed and threw on a pair of sweats and a white t-shirt. "You need to call Olivia, just to be here for Ruby." Emily instructed.

We had asked Emily's friend, Olivia, to be on stand by in case something like this happened and we needed her to take care of Ruby in case she woke up or something.

I picked up my phone as I unplugged it from the outlet, and called Olivia's number.

"Liv, can you make your way to the house as quickly as possible?" I asked, slightly panicked.

"On my way, I'll walk across now." She said. It was so good that she lived across the street.

In literally minutes, I heard the front door open and close as we made our way down the stairs.

"Go have that baby." Olivia grinned and hurried up the stairs to go to Ruby.

I wrapped an arm around Emily's waist and held the suitcase that we had left by the door in my hand.

"We need to leave." Emily said, her voice shaking a little.

I slid some slippers on Emily's feet and some slip on vans on mine, then walked her out to the car.

I sat my heavily pregnant wife in the passenger seat, and I rushed around to the driving seat.

"Fucking go." Emily cursed and I widened my eyes and started the car then drove up the road to the hospital.

I held Emily's hand and kept one hand on the wheel. I felt her squeezing my palm tightly and taking sharp breaths in.

"Em, honey. It's fine, you're fine. We're here." I said calmly as I parked the car right outside the doors.

I walked her in as I carried the bag, and they soon rushed my wife off to a delivery suite as I closely followed behind.

I walked beside Emily as she was sat in a wheelchair, and held her hand as we were taken into a room with a hospital bed, a TV, a bathroom, a large window, and a inflatable pool, by the looks of it.

As they lifted Emily onto the bed, she started straining a little. I glanced at the midwives with a confused look.

"Contractions, love." One of them explained and I nodded then stepped closer to Em.

"Emily you've got this." I smiled at her and she just groaned and squeezed my hand even tighter.

I took a quick glance at the digital clock beside the bed and saw it was 3:37am. This was going to be a long morning.

After about 3 or 4 hours of literally just Emily making noises, they finally decided it was time for her to deliver the baby.

I kept my eyes locked on Emily's and held her hand tightly. "You can do it." I said.

"Liam, shut up." She groaned and pushed. I knew she was pushed because I could definitely feel her nails digging into my palm. Ow.

After about another hour, Emily gave her one last push, and a soft cry echoed the room.

"It's a little boy. Congratulations." One of the midwives smiled and cut the umbilical cord, before wrapping him in a white towel, and handing him to Emily.

"That was a little crazy." She said softly, admiring the baby's tiny face.

I picked my phone up, and took a picture of the baby then sent it to Olivia's phone. I captioned it *Ruby's baby brother has arrived*

"So, what does he look like? Gabriel, James, or Edward?"

"I think he looks like a.."
