My Alpha Mate (ON HOLD)

Chapter One

Charlotte's POV
The pounding in my head increased as the amount of blood loss doubled. The beatings were worse today. Probably because there's exactly five minutes until my birthday.

I felt a kick in my ribs and cried out in pain as I felt it crack. The tears streamed steadily down my face as I heard a loud chuckle from my alpha. He was watching the pack members beat me with an amused expression.

I couldn't help the shiver of fear that ran through me as I looked him in the eye. Big mistake. He let out a furious growl and all the pack members froze. "LEAVE!" he commanded. "I want to finish her off myself." He said as a wicked smirk found its way onto his face.

They all looked at each other happy my beating would get ten times worse since it was from an alpha. I couldn't help but heave out a sob as he took slow steps towards me. "Please alpha!" I begged "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to look you in the eye! I swear it won't happen again!"

All he did was let out a deep chuckle loving that he was in control of me. "Shut up bitch." He spat. "All I'm trying to do is do your mate a favor. Nobody would ever want such a disappointment of a mate." He growled.

As soon as the words left his mouth the beating started. With each slap, kick, and punch he would spit awful words at me.
"Worthless!"  
    "Stupid!"
    "Ugly!"
     "Fat!"
and with each word I believed him. "Please!" I cried "I'm sorry. STOP! Please." I know I should give up because, with each word I spoke he only hit me harder.

Black dots clouded my vision and it was a struggle to breath due to the pain in me ribs. Suddenly the sound of the big clock filled my ears alerting me that it was exactly twelve a.m.

My breath caught in my throat as the most delicious scent filled my nose, and there were sparks everywhere that alpha had hit me. "No" a soft heartbroken voice whispered. Alpha dropped to his knees were I was laying bloody and bruised.

I tried to back away, but whimpered at the pain that ran through my body. In return I heard the alpha whimper almost louder than me. Alpha gently took me in his arms "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He said repeatedly as he cried.

I was confused, but my instincts soon kicked in my small hands started pushing at his chest trying to get away from him afraid for my life. Mate or not this was still the man that haunted my nightmares.

My actions only made him cry louder. "No please I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please don't reject me I love you so much already. I can't loose you I've waited for you for so long." My wolf whimpered at what he said begging me to give our mate a second chance.

I on the other hand had no sympathy for him. Why should I? Not less than ten minutes ago I was the one begging him not to hurt me. I cried louder the pain returning times ten.

Just the thought of my mate being the cause of my pain made my pain worse than it was before. Alpha gently took my face in his hands forcing me to look him in the eye.

Funny how just fifteen minutes ago I got a beating for doing just this. I tried to look away afraid of what he would do to me. "Please my angel" he said voice cracking. "I'm so sorry."

As he studied my food deprived, bloody body his eyes filled with concern and regret. "Oh moon goddess what have I done?" He carefully picked me up bridal style and walked with urgency to what seemed to be the direction of the pack doctor. To tired to fight I let him.

I've never heard or seen the alpha cry, but right now he's doing more than crying, he was sobbing. I could hear him repeatedly saying sorry over and over again. I didn't get much of a chance to dwell over it because he looked down at me and started talking. "It's ok princess were almost there" he said picking up his fast walk to a fast jog careful not to shake me to much.

"Everything's ok. We're ok." He said. It sounded like he was trying to reassure himself more than me though. Before I could even think everything started to blur together.

Alphas murmuring became fuzzy to my ears. I could make out some things like "Stay awake." "I love you." "I'm sorry." And "almost there" but I was to far gone to care. "Charlotte! Baby, please stay awake I need you. Please! I'm sorry!"

He sobbed as he cradled me to his chest. The last thing I saw was alphas tear streaked cheeks, his puffy baby blue eyes, and a doctor attempting to take me from alphas arms. Then.... Everything went dark.
