Zach
I happily walked by my boy, Renly. He was the one who brought me home that day and said some words about staying with me for the rest of my life.
I don't know what they mean, but spending time with me was enough to make me happy.
This morning, he took me with him outside, usually we'd go for walks around the afternoon with the other people in the house but today, Renly snuck me out real early, putting a hand on my mouth.
It must be a surprise, where ever we were going.
The fresh morning air got me excited, the flowers gave jealous stares at my boy, so I but them off and laid them on his feet.
He'll thank me later.
But his face scrunched up and kicked them away, good, I never liked those flowers.
I followed him to the forest and I sniffed around, everything was so new, this wasn't the usual park we went to. I had to inspect everything.
Who knows, some of this stuff might be handy for my boy. Oh! A wet twig! I picked it up and ran to him, gosh he's so far away.
We could play that fetch game, eventually, I ran in front of him to show off my discovery.
He mustn't have seen it, oh well, he's tall.
Soon enough, I had to stop putting my nose in every corner because my boy would be far.
He was beginning to pick up the pace, was there something interesting ahead?
I looked harder but only saw trees.
Once, I tried to slow him down by telling him, but like before, he didn't respond.
I felt extremely guilty for keeping my boy from his excitement. I let out one more bark.
He stopped. My heart lifted and I wagged my tail.
Renly put his arms on his waist and looked around. I copied him, there might be danger.
His eyes laid on a stick on the ground, my happiness went up a notch, I knew we had the same thinking!
I eagerly ran after the stick, it felt so good to run! But my distraction cost me.
I stopped in my tracks, I lost the stick! Maybe, maybe I can find it by scent!
Nothing. Oh no, my boy was so happy to find the right stick to play with me and now I lost it.
Further guilt built up as I pretend to find it but actually it was just some useless stupid stick in my way.
The weight of let down slowed me into a jog as I headed back to where my boy was.
Confusion sparked me. I was so certain this was the spot I left him at.
I lowered my nose to the ground, I wasn't very good at tracking.
But for my boy, it's definitely worth a try.
