there's something special about math
and how it always has an answer,
and that even the most complex equations
can have a simple solution.

math reminds me of you:
all your ins and outs,
ups and downs,
an endless string of variables
that simplifies down
to the things that make you smile.

and i am still wondering
if i am one of these things,
so i will go back to the chalkboard
and derive the answer
from all the parts of you.
