Seran scoffed, "Who do you think?"
Loki squealed again, "You like Staeli, don't you?" Staeli was a girl in their English class, she was soft-spoken and shy, but smart beyond all belief. She wasn't someone who was normally recognised for her looks- she had a larger body than most other girls, she had quite a bit of acne, but didn't wear any makeup to cover it up, her clothes were never anything new and particularly fashionable, and she wore big clunky glasses that covered her dusky brown eyes, but she was unbelievably nice and caring. Loki couldn't think of anyone better for his best friend. Staeli didn't talk to them much, unless they approached her with conversation first, but she always seemed genuinely interested in Seran's ramblings, and although Seran never outwardly expressed his feelings for the girl before, Loki could always just tell. They both knew that they probably wouldn't end up together, unless Staeli didn't have a soulmate either (which was highly unlikely), but they could pretend.
His best friend turned a light pink and cleared his throat awkwardly, "Yeah, I've liked her since freshman year, when she raised her hand in biology and listed off all the terminology without notes, and I just... She's so adorable."
Loki felt like a pig with how much he had squealed today, but he just couldn't help it because, "That's so cute!" His smile grew bigger as a thought hit him, "I'm going to ship you guys."
Seran's eyes widened, "What? No, please don't."
"I am. You two are my new OTP, which will be weird, cause I don't ship straight people, but I will do it for you." Seran looked horrified, but Loki continued, "What should it be called? Seraeli? Staeran? Hmm, I'll have to think about it."
"Please don't."
Loki grinned wolfishly, "Oh, I will."
Seran's eye twitched, "Well what about you? I'll ship you with your soulmates. It can be like, Lokinn or Fiki," he paused, "Those both sound like a name from Lord of the Rings." They both laughed lightly, "Actually, if I'm going to ship you, I need to add the other two. What are their names?"
"Hmm," Loki thought with amusement, "I don't remember."
"You don't remember," Seran deadpanned.
Loki nodded in affirmation. "Yup. I don't remember."
Seran's eyes narrowed, "I think you're lying."
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not," Loki shrugged, enjoying teasing his friend. "It's not like you'll know either way."
Seran glared jokingly, "You just don't want me to come up with a ship name, do you."
Loki smiled, "Now you're getting it."
They talked for a little bit longer, and for some reason it felt like they were revisiting all the reasons that made them best friends, stitching the holes that had come from their week of avoiding each other and acting like strangers. It was a good healing process for the both of them; to be able to just laugh and talk freely with one another like nothing else in the world mattered. Of course Loki was still cautious, but less so than he was before Seran came over that day.

It was lunch time on a Friday, and Loki was so done with his friends. Drew had been throwing food at people, seeing how long it would take to start a food fight. Andrea was talking nonstop- to the point Loki wondered if she even breathed- about random stuff that no one cared about, and Seran kept sending Loki knowing looks, hitting him under the table whenever he would look away.
Sure he had his first date with Finn tomorrow, but did Seran have to be so annoying and think that he was 'reminding' Loki about it, when that was literally all he could think about this week? He was this close to chucking an apple at Seran's face, duct taping Andrea's mouth shut, and tying Drew to the chair so he couldn't pelt random people with bits of pineapple and lettuce.
