(Maka's POV)

A heavy rain of fire began as we took off, ducking and dodging the bullets that flew past us.

Kid was shooting back, his amber-colored eyes filled with anger, bullets flying everywhere.

"Soul, transform! " I yelled, holding my hand out for him.

He grabbed my hand, his body began to transform into his weapon form.

His red and black scythe, better than ever now that he became a death scythe.

I stopped his spin by grabbing onto the pole of his scythe, turning around facing the enemies.

I began to spin him again, blocking every bullet they sent our way; then as they grew closer, I dragged Soul's blade through their chest.

Blood seeping out of the leader's chest, he collapsed to his knees, gasping for air.

I quickly decapitated him, his body evaporating and all that was left was his soul.

Low animalistic growls was all I heard, as their eyes grew darker and filled with rage.

They had us completely surrounded, for miles to come.

My heart began to pound as they grew closer, their hot breath heavy and rampant against my skin.

Kid and I were back to back, unsure what to do next; either we attack or they do.

Then, that's when they attacked. One by one, they lunged at us, their nails dug into our skins and drawing blood.

I kicked them away from me, then like their leader, beheaded them quickly.

"Soul Resonance! " We yelled, in unison.

Our souls grew and fought for dominance, which came out in a tie, his blade growing triple in size.

A surge of power ripped through my body as I held him tighter, an frown tight on my lips.

" Soul Resonance, Demon Hunt! " We yelled, as Soul's blade broken in pieces, revealing a colorful, larger blade.

" Kid, duck! "

Before he could respond, I swung his blade, forcing him to duck.

His blade ripped through each of their bodies, slicing them in half and leaving their souls for us to take.

As the last monsters was defeated, his blade changed back to normal size.

He transformed into his human form, standing by my side.

We were surrounded by souls of different colors.

"Great work, guys. " I said, cracking a smile.

Soul smiled while Kid frowned.

" Next time when you decide to swing your boyfriend, make sure that you don't decapitate me. " He said.

A giggle left my lips, as he rambled on and on. He always hated the way I did things without thinking and just acted on impulse; but he over thought things which if not goes according to plan, messes everything up.

" Oh, shut up you big baby. You're fine. " I said, patting him on the back.

" Just barely. " He whispered, before muttering things under his breath.

I rolled my eyes, turning back to Soul.

He held my hand in his, pulling me closer to him. He pressed a kiss to my forehead before capturing me in his embrace.

" Good job, Maka. You did great. " He whispered.

I smiled.

" Thanks. "

As long as he thought I did good, nothing in this world mattered.

Only his opinion mattered to me.
