Chapter Fourteen

  "Guys, that's creepy... Go away..."  My mom just rolled her eyes.

  "You have school today, remember?"

  "Ughhhhhhhh."  I buried my head into Austen's chest and groaned.

  "What?"  A sleepy voice asked.

  "We have school."  Austen let out a groan similar to mine.  "And my mom and Emily were being creepers and taking pictures of us sleeping."

  "That's so weird."  

  "Get up!!" My mom yelled once more and they both left the room.  I yawned and sat up looking at Austen.

  "Zeek, you aren't out at school yet, are you?"

  "No..."

  "Me either... Well.. um.. do you want to.. Keep us a secret for a little bit, or do you want to come out as a couple today?"

  "I'm ready... But what about you?  You haven't told anybody else yet."  He sat up and held my face in his hands.

  "I just want to make sure the whole world knows that you're mine.  I don't care what anyone thinks."  He kissed me softly and climbed out of the bed, heading for my dresser while I tried to calm my nerves.  Coming out to my friends and family is one thing, coming out to the entire school is completely different, which is why I almost had a panic attack in Austen's car when we got to the school.

  "Zeek, calm down.  Everything wil be just fine."  He squeezed my hand.

  "What about all the homophobes?  What if nobody accepts us Austen...  I don't want to get pushed away."  I felt tears prick my eyes.  He unbuckled our seat belts and pulled me closer to him so that I was practically in his lap, and cupped my cheeks.

  "Zeek, I don't care about them.  I don't care about anyone else but you.  We don't have to do it today if you don't want to..."  I shook my head.

  "No, I want to."

  "Good."  He pecked my lips.  "If anyone gives you a hard time, promise me you'll tell me?" 

  "I promise.  You too?"

  "Promise.  Now let's go or we'll be late."  I gave him one last long kiss and climbed off him, moving over to my side.  I took a deep breath to calm myself and got out of the car, making my way over to Austen.  He held out his hand and I took it, lacing our fingers together.  People were already starting to give us odd looks.

  "Hey guys!"  Naomi came up to us and began walking with us, along with Felicity.

  "Hey Naomi."

  "I take it you guys aren't hiding from everyone?"  She raised a brow and gestured to our linked hands.

  "No, why would we?"  Naomi and Felicity left when we got to my locker.

  "I would walk you to class, but Mr. Stevens said if I'm late one more time he was going to give me detention for like two weeks, which means I'll never see you..."  Austen leaned up against the locker next to mine and watched me as I pulled out my textbooks.

  "It's okay.  I can walk to my own class.  It's right down the hall, yours is on the other side of the school."  He smiled and looked around at the curious crowd that was gathering around us.  

  "You sure you wanna do this right now?"  I took a deep breath and looked into Austen's eyes.  They were filled with love and passion, and I knew my answer.

  "I'm sure."  And with that he smiled and leaned closer to me, crashing his soft lips onto mine.  At that moment, I didn't care if there was anyone there. All I felt were Austen's lips on mine and the familiar butterflies and sparks they gave me.  Of course, the stupid warning bell had to ring, which meant Austen had to go.

  "I love you Angel."  He kissed my nose.

  "I love you too."  He gave me one last peck and walked away, leaving me with the shocked crowd.  I shut my locker and began to walk to my class, ignoring all the whispers and stares.  

  "Zeek!  You're gay?"

  "Oh my gosh, you and Austen?"

  "That's so cute!"

  "We need to go shopping together!!!"

  "Faggot."   I froze at the last comment and turned around slowly.  "What's wrong Fairy?  Did I offend you?"  Gabe Daniels.  Football captain, and bad boy.  I nervously shook my head and began walking away, only to be pulled back by my collar.   "You tell your faggot boyfriend of yours that if I ever see him in the boy's locker room again, I will personally punish him.  You understand Fairy?"  I nodded.  "Good, now if you excuse me I have to go wash the faggot germs off me."  He shoved me onto the floor, making me smack my head on the tile, and laughed.  "What are you all lookin at?"  He yelled to the growing audience, making them disappear leaving the hall empty, and me late... With another headache to add to my current one.

  "Zeek, I'm so so sorry about him, are you okay?"  I looked up and saw Gabe's best friend Luke. holding his hand out to me.  I took it and he pulled me up, making me dizzy.

  "I'm fine, thanks."

  "You sure?  Your nose is bleeding pretty bad.  Let me take you to the nurse."  

  "I said I'm fine."  I snapped and turned around too quickly, making me stumble.  I caught myself on a nearby locker.

  "Zeek, please?"  I sighed and nodded.  He came and wrapped an arm around my waist and put mine around his shoulders so he could support my weight.  "Did you hit your head?"

  "Yeah.  I just got over a concussion so that probably didn't help."

  "I'm really sorry about him.  He's a jerk."

  "Then why are you friends with him?  Why are you even helping me anyways?"

  "I'm bi."  That shocked me...  "And I might have a teeny crush on him..." 

  "I'm sorry..."

  "What's there to be sorry about?"

  "He's a homophobe and you have to deal with that...  I know how it feels to be in love with your best friend and be scared to tell them."

  "I physically can't tell him though... I want to tell him so badly, but I can't.  He'll hate me and he'll beat me... Just like he did with you.  I can't handle that.  Imagine if when you came out to Austen and told him your feelings, if he yelled at you and beat you... That's how it would feel."  He sighed and stopped in front of the nurse's door, pushing it open.

  "He'll come around. I'll help you too."  He smiled.

  "Thanks Zeek.  Austen is a lucky guy."  I blushed and smiled, but grimaced as a sharp wave of pain entered my head and my vision blurred.  "Zeek?  Are you okay?"  Luke looked at me with a worried look on his face.

  "I'm fi-"  I stumbled and hit the ground.  Then everything turned black.

I'm so mean... I'm sorry D:  But they're together finally!!!  A couple new characters were introduced in this chappie...
