The Emerald King rested his forehead against Ren's, his lips moving against hers in a silent prayer.

Please, let her live. Gods, I need her by my side... I love her.

"I love you Ren, please wake up," he pleaded quietly, silent tears slipping down his cheeks and onto hers.

"Kai," Atlantis whispered, his body propped against the cave wall, "Look."

Kai lifted his head from Ren's forehead, his eyes taking in the earthy green glow that surrounded her slender form.

"Morgan! What did you do?" he questioned, his heart beating rapidly inside his chest at the sudden change.

Morgan himself looked frightened, "I did nothing. I only added a small amount of paste after removing the spear to stop the bleeding."

"Do not fear my children," a voice echoed through the cave.

They glanced around, searching for the voice, "Who are you?"

"I am the Emerald Sea Goddess, I have heard your prayers for this wonderful human who selflessly sacrificed her own life to save a child of mine. Kai, King of the Emerald Kingdom, know that you have a second chance with her. No longer will she be human, but one of your own kind. As of this moment, she will be the voice of the Emerald Goddess..." the voice spoke before fading away.

Kai glanced at Ren, her body slowly transforming. The wound in her stomach closed shut, leaving no scar behind. Green scales appeared over her shoulders and down her sides, towards her hips where her legs began to encase by a set of scales, transforming her lower half into a tail. Her fins were not that of any normal mer, instead they looked silky and elegant.

Kai took her hand into his, waiting for his beloved to return to him from the doors of death.

His green eyes suddenly met a pair of silver ones.

A long time ago he once heard a saying that he had heard from the humans.

The eyes are the windows to the soul.

Kai, could attest to that truth because Ren's enchanting irises showed him what he saw in no other female.

Love.

Master! his light faeries said as they approached him while he tugged the raft with all his strength.

"Cassio!" he said breathlessly, "What news do you bring of Ren?"

Cassio's fae features stretched into a grin, "The Emerald Goddess blessed her with life."

Destan stopped swimming, his eyes wide in wonder. He knew that each city had their own god or goddess that protected the kingdom but they haven't manifested themselves since The Great War when the ancient gods rules the universe and were overthrown by the gods of the ocean kingdom.

"That means a change is coming isn't it?" he questioned, clutching the rope.

Cassio nodded, his flame glittering brightly, "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

The Diamond King's eyebrows furrowed, "I am not sure," he murmured, his eyes darting to the boat above him. The human that he had taken captive was a beautiful woman, with her onyx eyes and midnight hair. Yet something inside her captivated his interest. She had a spark in her eyes but yet her eyes also expressed sadness.

"Are you going to keep her Master?" Cassio asked.

Destan smiled to himself, "I think I will."

Ace clutched the side of her head, a groan escaping her dry lips. She knew not how long she had been unconscious but she could still remember in vivid detail of her kidnapping. She sat up, glancing at her surroundings. The sea stretched far in wide, the small inflatable lifeboat keeping her above the ocean. The one thing she noticed however was the man asleep on the edge of the raft, his muscular arms and legs stretched out. Tattoos covered his shoulders and biceps, a pair of red swim trunks clinging dangerously low on his hips, exposing the prominent "v".

Her eyes took in the familiar white hair when she realized he was her kidnapper.

"Ohh shit, I'm in the middle of the fucking ocean with a strange man," she muttered to herself, searching for something to defend herself.

"My name is Destan," the white haired man said from his spot on the raft.

Ace clenched her teeth, "This is all your fault!" she growled pointing a finger at the man, "I'm in the middle of a fucking ocean with no food or water and no means of communication!"

Destan arched an eyebrow before sitting up, the muscles in his torso rippling, "Look away girl," he muttered.

"For what? So you can kill me? No way mister!" Ace glared, crossing her arms over her chest. She regretted her decision when Destan turned and pulled his shorts down exposing his surprisingly supple rear and a pair of strong thighs to her virgin eyes. Her jaw fell as her eyes grew wide. Never had she seen a man in his full glory.

"Like what you see?" the man murmured. Blushing she covered her eyes but not before peeking through her fingers.

Ace! she chastised herself, feeling the heat rush to her face.

She heard a splash and quickly opened her eyes. Destan was no longer on the boat but beside her in the water, his sharp features expressing curiosity.

Ace held back a gasp, "Why are you in the water? Do you not see that we're in the middle of the ocean?"

"Yes," he deadpanned, "You've said that repeatedly."

"We're going to die!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air.

"No we're not, I will take you someplace safe," Destan said before slipping back into the water.

However, Ace couldn't hold back a gasp when the lower part of his body was no longer human, but the tail of a fish.

Ace knew she wasn't the type of girl to swoon at the sight of handsome man but this time she couldn't help but fall unconscious.

Yay! Ren's alive! But gods and goddesses now appearing? What could be brewing?
