Nope, there's no other way.
I grabbed a piece of paper and quickly wrote; "I'm sorry" Hayden read what I wrote and looked at me confused. I just gave him an apologetic look before his screen started to glitch. It went black and then sparks and smoke started to come out of his laptop. I couldn't help but cringe a bit and looked to see how Hayden was handling it.
He looked as if he were about ready to burst into tears. I could understand though if something like that had happened to my baby, I would want to cry too. But then there's the fact that I don't cry.
"How did you know it was going to do that?" Dylan asked looking at me suspiciously, him being the first one to break out of their shock.
Grabbing some paper and pen I wrote; "Because I wrote the code for it to do that." I gave him the paper and went back over to my laptop to try and get in.
The only way in that I can remember I made was by a password so I brought up the lock screen, trying to think. It would defiantly help if I knew who this person was so I could get in their head.
The thing is; I'm pretty sure I did know who it was but I couldn't put a face or name to the feeling I was having.
I had made this code a week before the accident that landed me in this town, I remember that. So only the people who were close to me at that time would have known about this code, and even back then there wasn't that many people I trusted.
My webcam light lite up and I knew the person was watching me. I raised an eyebrow at the mystery person on the other side of the screen.
A chat box popped up.
KingTeddy:
Come on think. You know it.
I raised my eyebrow again for two reasons; one – what is with his screen name? Two – why did he think I would know a complete strangers password?
Shadow:
What makes you think I know your password? I person I've never met?
KingTeddy:
Because you have met me.
I thought back to the day I had finished the code, concentrating hard.
[Flashback]
My small eight year old fingers were flying across my laptop, writing code. I was almost done. It's taken me two weeks to develop but it was almost done and I was so excited to show my father and Logan.
Finally I finished, I punch the air while yelling, "Yes!"
"Did you finally finish?" A thirteen year old boy came over to me, looking over my shoulder and at the new firewall I had just created. "Well let's test it out shall we?"
He briefly left the room before coming back with one of our old laptops in hand. Now it was his fingers that flew over the keys. Not too much longer, about two minutes maybe, he started to look confused before I saw sparks and smoke start to come from his laptop.
He jumped back, "Holy shit! Is it meant to do that?" He questioned.
I just nodded and grinned at the fact that it actually worked.
"Ya mind putting that on my laptop?" He asked with a small smile.
"Sure Logan." He passed me his laptop (the one that we didn't ruin).
"Thanks Birdy!"
[End of flashback]
He was the only person I had told about this code besides my father but I knew it wasn't him, he wasn't the best necessarily with technology.
