It was difficult at first, but after awhile, they'd found the perfect rhythm. Soon, they were floating on a beautiful cloud of euphoria, where the only sound that could be heard was their soft moans of pleasure and the quiet squeaking from the springs within the couch.

When they were done, they looked at each other, unable to take their gazes off of each other's eyes. What Luke and Audrey had together was simple.

They were completely infatuated with each other.

Luke and Audrey fell asleep on the couch in each other's arms, engulfed by a thick, warm blanket. They woke up in the morning in the same position that they'd fallen asleep in, with only the blanket covering their naked bodies.

When Audrey woke up, she couldn't help but admire the way Luke looked when he was sleeping, from the way his mouth was partly opened to the way his chest steadily rose and fell.

Luke soon woke up and smiled when he saw that Audrey was still in his arms. He sat up, stretched, then rubbed his eyes.

"Hey," he said. "You're still here."

He was surprised, but he wasn't upset.

Audrey nodded, then slid back into her clothes. "Yeah, my parents will probably see that I'm not there and freak out, but I don't care. I want to be here with you."

"What if they hurt you? Audrey, I don't want anything to happen to you," Luke told her after stepping into his boxers and pulling them up.

Audrey walked over to the window and looked out, not saying anything. Luke didn't know if she'd be okay with her parents. He didn't know them or what they were capable of, so how could he simply leave her alone with them?

"Luke, I don't want to be here anymore," she whispered.

"Then we can leave," Luke said, standing up from the couch, but she shook her head.

"No, I mean I don't want to be here anymore. I hate this town, I hate my parents, I hate everything except for you. Luke, let's run away. Let's just leave and never come back," Audrey said, pleading him with her eyes.

Luke shook his head, stepping forward. "I want to, but I can't. You know that I can't."

"Luke, please," she whispered, weakly.

He frowned, but pulled her into a hug anyway. "I have to take care of my mom, Audrey. She needs me. I need her. I can't just leave her."

Luke's mind then drifted off to Jared, who was his mom's new boyfriend. Maybe she didn't need him anymore. She had Jared to take care of her. Maybe Luke didn't need her anymore. He was almost eighteen, and he had Audrey now. Audrey would always be there for him, right?

But he loved his mom more than anything. There was no way that he could do that to her.

"Please, Luke. It would be the most amazing adventure. We can rent an apartment together and get jobs in the city. I have enough money saved up. We could do this, Luke. I just need you,"

Luke looked at the beautiful girl in front of him. Something had brought these two together, and now he couldn't bare the thought of being apart from her again.

"I turn eighteen in two weeks. Once I'm eighteen, my parents won't be able to control me anymore. And you turn eighteen in July, right?" Audrey asked, and Luke nodded his head.

Luke thought about Audrey's plan, and he couldn't help but want to go through with it. He admired her so much to the point where he was willing to follow her across oceans, the world, and space itself.

"Audrey, I really want to, but we have to finish school. Stay with me at my house. They won't be able to find you there," he held her hand tightly, not wanting to let go.

She pulled away, looking anywhere but at the blonde haired boy in front of her.

"It's not that easy," she whispered, a tear sliding down her cheek.

All that Luke could do was hold her in his arms, and tell her that it was all going to be okay. They would figure something out, eventually. They had to.

He just couldn't run away with her. Not yet, anyway. He wasn't ready for something like that.

Audrey was ready. She'd been living her whole life on her own terms. If she wanted to leave school, she left. If she wanted to leave her parents, she did. If she wanted to leave town, she would, and deep down, Luke knew that.

"Please don't go," Luke told her, but she stayed silent.

Audrey always got what she wanted.

Luke didn't.
