Chapter Three: Allen

Start from the beginning

He still hated the letters though, because at the beginning it gave him false hope as he read through each and every letter to see if his soulmates really were sending him letters. But then he realized that he would find his destined mates when the time was right, and looking for them wasn't going to do any good to anyone. Since then, like now, he just dumped the letters in the trash, not even pretending to read them.

"That wasn't every nice," Ely commented as he stumbled his way over to Allen.

"Yeah, well..." the actor sighed again, "Anyway, what do you want to do?"

Mark's cheer of "truth or dare" sounded from the living room. Apparently that was the only game his drunk friends could come up with, but he was bored and not totally against the idea.

They sat in an awkward triangle-circle thing, not really caring that Truth or Dare is more fun with more than three people.

Allen started, "Ely-"

"Truth!" His friend shouted, cutting him off.

He made a sound of consideration as he thought of a good question to ask- he knew almost everything about Ely. He decided to go easy, "When was the last time you ate something disgusting?"

Ely giggled, slightly out of it, "Hmm, two days ago." He smiled slyly before turning to his soulmate, "Markkie, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

Allen scoffed. "You guys are cowards."

They both ignored him, "Have you ever accidentally set something on fire?"

Mark nodded so fast, Allen thought his head was going to snap off and roll away. "There was this one time where I was trying to get a stain out of something, and I was rubbing it really hard until it started sparking and then BAM! I had a bonfire in my hands." His words were terribly slurred, but the others understood him well enough and started laughing. "Allen," he sang, turning his head to the actor, "Truth or dare?"

Allen figured that Mark would be a tame person that wouldn't dare him to do something completely outlandish like Ely would, so he chose dare.

The shy British man grinned, "Show us your soulmark." Allen's jaw dropped. That was the one thing Ely and Allen had never shown each other, never talked about. Ely didn't know Allen had multiple names, he didn't even know Allen's soulmate was a guy. This was the thing he kept secret, not from embarrassment or shame, but because it felt extremely special to him. But now, because of a stupid drunken game, his most precious thing was going to be revealed.

Ely and Mark both looked intrigued and confused as Allen took a deep breath and moved his hand to the watch on his left wrist. He removed it while subtly hiding the black lettering there, before moving to remove his blood red wristband from his right arm. Taking another deep breath, he barred his wrists to his two friends.

They both gasped when they saw the multiple black names there, neither expecting it. "Allen..." Ely trailed off, not sure what to say.

Allen tried to smile, "I guess the game is over, huh?" There was no way they could continue playing such a lighthearted game after such a serious moment.

"I- I'm sorry, Allen." Mark said, regret in his eyes. Allen supposed he had thought the actor's mark would be some girl's name (maybe a boy's) and possibly an odd name that they could laugh over. The truth was a little different.

"It's fine." Coughing lightly he covered his wrists again, "Well, I should get to bed. Early day tomorrow." He smiled towards his friends, "You two are welcome to stay if you want."

Ely nodded, "Okay, goodnight babe! Love you!" Allen returned the sentiment before leaving the living room to go to the bedroom.

He changed into a large t-shirt and stripped off his pants before falling into bed. He wasn't really that tired, so he decided to indulge in his guilty pleasure: fanfiction featuring himself and other male celebrities.

Call him vain; he didn't really care. He just enjoyed other people's imagination, especially since he could become the character in the story. It made him feel like he wasn't emotionally alone anymore- like he finally had his soulmates to keep him company on the dark nights when he felt like all he was, was a pretty face on the TV.

The fanfiction, no matter how obscure the storyline, helped, even if just for an hour or two.
