Kate's p.o.v.
When I got to school this morning I passed by the second in command's chosen, Brandon. I chanced on the most intoxicating scent; a mix of lavender and cinnamon, weird combination but it smelled nice.
Brandon was staring at me in disgust, I yet to come to reality didn't have any defense, he came up to me and grabbed me harshly. I felt like shouting, from that single touch, I overflowed with happiness.
"Mate! Mate! Mate !"
He dragged us to the janitors closet and said what I didn't want to hear.
"I Brandon soon-to-be Beta reject you Kate."
"I Kate mate of the soon-to-be Beta accept your rejection.
By the surprise and shock on his face he wasn't expecting me to accept the rejection. I just left him there and went to class.
'That jerk! How dare he! Does he even know how much of a blessing it is to even get a fucking mate?!'
'I know b-but-' A sob broke past her tightly pressed lips.
'That does it! Kate do you us to fuse? It'll help lessen the heartbreak and this way we won't ever be separated.'
'Do it, make this feeling go away.'
