Skylar James has always been "special", at least that's what her father called her when she was a child. Her mother, on the other hand, would prefer the term "extraordinary."
Skylar had the ability to sense someone's fears, by just the touch of her hand, but it came at a high price. The young girl would be up hours into the night, having horrid nightmares. You see, once she discovered a person's fear, they were embedded in her mind and she couldn't shake them. Skylar was terrified and her family tried to help her the best they could.
As Skylar grew older, the fears worsened. And one day, Skylar snapped. Her parents were arguing, and she knew she was the cause of it. Her father wanted to send her away to get help, but her mother fought for her daughter's freedom. Skylar's older brother stood by his sister's side to keep her calm. It all was too much for Sklyar as she let out a scream of unmatched volume and every object in the room crashed against the walls. This was a new development in Skylar's story.
It was then that Skylar James would spend the next 5 years locked up to be fixed.
