Elves and House Elves. They both have the elf in the name but they are not related. It seems weird but they are not related. They once were related but they were separated.
The House Elf was a baby version of the Elf. The Elf King didn't like the idea of the 'Baby Elves' being ugly and don't look human. The Elf King created a new baby elf that he said was more 'attractive'. The House Elves became a servent to the Elves and they gave them to Wizards when the Elves left the world at the end of Lord of the Rings.
