The sound of yelling and shuffling footsteps woke me up from my horrifying dream. The palm of my hand was clammy and my forehead was wet. "Ugh, again!" I looked at my hands. When will it stop! I dragged myself out of my cushy bed and onto the hard wooden floor. Sitting their. Trying not to think about the dream...

"We've been here for like a thousand hours! When can we go home!" my brother Jace complained. "Soon." was all my mother said before a yell was heard throughout the store. And then a scream, then another scream, and then another... "Wha-what's happening? Mom! Dad!" I screamed, scared for my life. My brother was held in my dad's arm. My parents scooted us to the back of the store. "Down you two." My dad's voice shouted. We obliged, and hid behind a stack of racks. We waited for a second, with silence. Then I heard a boom sound. A gun. The yells, shouts, scream, cries, were just too much for me. I wanted to know what the hell was going on! I crawled on my fours towards the sounds. I ducked underneath a basket of children's toys. "Veronica! Get back here!" My dad screamed. I pretended not to hear him. "Veron- ugh!" I guess he gave up trying to call me back because the next I knew he was beside me. "Veronica, what in the world do you think you are you doing! Are you trying to get yourself killed?" I look at my dad, stunned. Yea, of course i've thought about death, but just not in this way. "No, I wasn't trying to." I said shakily. I'm going to die! I felt something hot and wet falling down my cheeks. "Oh honey! C'mon." He embraced me with a hug. I held on tight, afraid to face reality. "Daddy. What's going to happen?" I felt him shaking his head. " I don't know sweetheart."....
"Veronica! Hey! Wake up!" I lift my eyelids, revealing my brother's cute face. I quickly ran my sleeves over my eyes, I knew their were tears. "Why are you on the floor?" He asked me. "What?" I looked at where I sat. On the floor beside my bed. "Oh, I guess I fell or something, it's alright little bro." I tousled the top of his hair. "Hey!" He swatted my hands away. I than reached for his belly, and tickled it. "Hehe, stop it!" He was rolling on the floor, laughing.
I hope this was good for you guys!
