Chapter 8- Gemini

Start from the beginning

“Oh my gosh, I apologize! This is so embarrassing.. I’m extremely sorry. It’s just that you two looked adorable when you were on your way here. Anyway! One Tarte Crême brûlée and Les Pains de mie. Would you like anything else?”

“Can I order you??—AWW! That f…freaking hurts, sis!”

Well, what can I say? I kick like a horse. Hahahaha!

“We’ll have an additional Earl Grey and English Breakfast Tea. And oh, can I have a small portion of milk for the tea?”

“Certainly, Madam. Your order will be ready within five minutes.” And she left.

“Hoy, Luca. If you may, can you please control your raging flirty-hormones!”

“Whatever, Luna. Whatever.” The nerve! He managed to roll his eyes at me.

Like what Luca said, I’m his twin sister. I’m Luna Sky T. Vera and I’m with my brother Raven Luca T. Vera. We’re in Dubai, but today’s our flight back to Manila and we’ll arrive after…. 12 hours, I think.

I took my phone from my bag and started recording a tune I couldn’t get out of my head.

“Luna, may sasabihin ako.”

“Ano nanaman?! Hindi ka pa ba nagsasalita sa lagay na yan?” I said in an irritated voice, he knows I hate being interrupted when I’m recording a tune because I get distracted. And… Eventually, I end up forgetting how the tune went.

“If you die…” He paused for a momentary silence and continued, “I’ll follow you to death.”

“Geez, Luca. What the hell are you talking about? You’re getting creepier and creepier!” and the little prick laughed -____-

The same blonde woman served our pastry and tea.

“Kumain ka na nga lang!” sabi ko while I put 3 pieces of his food in his mouth while he was laughing like a frog.

“Aren’t you the sweetest?” he said filled with sarcasm after he swallowed the bread I gave him. Mwehehehe.

I felt my phone vibrate, I checked to see what it was all about and…

It was mom calling so I answered the phone.

“Ma? Hello, Ma?”

“Anak! Asan na kayo ng kuya mo?”

“Hindi ko siya kuya! He was just born 2  minutes ahead of me!”

“Haha! Ikaw talaga, anak!” I love my mom’s laugh. “O’sya, asan si Luca?”

“He’s here. Kakausapin niyo po ba?” I turned my phone to loud-speaker.

“No, I was just checking up on you kids. Good thing Luca isn’t hitting on girls this time!”

“MAMA! NARINIG KO YUN.” Luca said loud enough for mom to hear.

“Joke lang, nak! Hahaha, ang pogi mo kasi eh! Mana sa tatay…. Pero syempre, your looks came from my genes!”

“Adelaide, sweetheart. NARINIG KO RIN YUN!”  Sabi ni Papa! Kailangan talaga may term of endearment pag tinatawag si Mama?!

“Anyway, have a safe flight, kids. We’ll see you in December. Love you!”

“Bye po! Ingat po kayo jan. We love you too. Take care!”

Call ended….

“See? Even mom thinks you’re a flirt.”

“Yeah, and she also said I’m handsome. TAKE THAT!”

“Tss….”

After eating at PAUL’s, we spent most of our remaining time in the Zen Garden before boarding. When we were on our way to the plane, the crew greeted us and we were also accompanied by two stewards along with the two guards towards the First Class Cabin.

My twin was just beside my suite but there was this privacy divider so he would lower it down everytime he’d annoy me.

Even if he’s like that, even if the world turns upside-down.. What can I do? As much as I hate to say it, he’s still my twin!! Just kidding! I love my twin-ever-dearest! We were the only ones who had each others’ back especially when we were kids. It was hard… for me. Kids would tease me so it was hard making friends. But people loved my twin, though, he quit being quite the social-butterfly ever since he noticed how lonely I was. So, one day, he decided to stick with me all the time and we lived in our own little world.

Everybody who would attempt to enter our world would fail to understand or, maybe we simply didn’t let them until… she came and made the big change that has made our lives better. We became more aware with others’ feelings and had friends.

Anyway, enough getting too sentimental! Luca annoyed the hell out of me for several hours until dinner was served.

He and I had Stir-Fried Lobster in black bean sauce for apetizers and a salad. He had Braised Beef in Coconut Milk for the main course while I had Glazed Duck Breast. As for dessert, we both ordered Strawberry Cheesecake paired with Ceylon Green Tea.

I guess, I waited for an hour before I told Luca I was going to bed. He called a crew for me so that they can convert my seat into a bed. I said my Good Night’s to Luca and dozed off.

…….

I found myself walking in a damp street. After that, I stopped at a hotel and I don’t know what has gotten into me but I entered it.

My feet led me into a room with a Yule Ball-vibe. It looks…. Beautiful.

Everybody in the room was wearing masks and was sitting except, a couple standing in the dance floor and two men on the stage. One was sitting by the piano chair and another behind a cello.

“Wow. From the looks of it, they’re like a match made in heaven.” I said.

I took a few steps closer to get a better view of them. Afterall, it seems like I’m invisible to everybody anyway.

“And they look perfect up close.” I thought. After a few seconds, the man by the piano started to play Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years then, the cellist made a clean entrance and the two played beautifully.

The couple was smilling at each other as they danced gracefully to the melody. And even if they wore a mask to partially hide their face, their eyes can’t hide the fact that they were in love.

…….

I woke up to Luca because my dear brother hit my forehead. Good thing it wasn’t that hard. We had breakfast which I didn’t enjoy well because he ruined my morning… and my dream.

After an hour or two, we finally arrived in Manila.

“It’s good to be back.” I muttered.
