"Gosh Lini! you scared me and look.... I lost!" I complained to my best friend.
"well, that won't have happened if you could have joined us" she pouted.
"Now don't send me a request for lives,Nino, cause you owe me six lives" Seyie said as he looked up from his laptop.
"Says the guy who is known for sending requests for chips" I stuck out my tongue at him.
"Hey that's fair enough. You send me CC requests, I send Poker requests." he shrugged , giving me his well-known annoying grin.
"And how many times will I tell you that I don't even know how to play poker?" I questioned him.
"How about a hundred ti-"
"Shut it you two, I'm thinking" Lini interrupted him.
"I thought I will be spared." Toshi said sarcastically.
"Not a chance man" Hetoshe slapped his back, laughing.
" I'm getting bored" Ite whined as she pulled out her lip gloss to apply another coat of glimmer and stickiness. She was the most fashionable among our group and also earned the honourable title 'complain box'. But she is one of the prettiest girl I've met.
This summer break has been quite long. Sure we got one month break as always but this year we've got less assignments and projects. Two more weeks to go and I'm fed up already. Almost every weekend since the holidays started, me and my group meet up to chat and play around. Oh! ...and eat. That is a must. Who doesn't like good food?
"okay I got it. Tell us who you like the best among us" Lini pointed at herself, Ite, Chumbeni and me....wait... me? When did I come into play?
"Is that the best you've got?" Hetoshe face-palmed himself.
I still need 7 minutes to get new lives. So I decided to pull my chair towards the circle and listen to the 'moment of truth'.
"looks like you want to know too huh?" Seyie told me as he continued with his pc game or pretended to... I don't know.
"So? Got any probs?"I asked. He is seriously getting on my nerves.
He simply smiled at the screen in front of him! The devil...
"Her" Toshi confessed.
I turned towards them to see who his 'girl' was since Seyie looked up. Lucky him that he didn't see me throwing him the evil look.
"ohoooo..oo" Chumbeni teased as she bummed his shoulder.
"Who is it, Toshi?" I wriggled my eyebrows.
They all burst out laughing. okaa..aay did I say something hilarious?
"You" Hetoshe replied for him.
As the wheels turned around in my head, I realised who 'his girl' was. My ears turned crimson red as I prayed that the floor will swallow me up.
"Toshi and Nino sitting on a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Lini recited the well-known rhyme.
I rolled my eyes while my friends laughed.
"You have to play now." Ite suggested.
"I'm playing" I showed them my phone.
"It still got 5 minutes to load." The observant Lemba pointed out.
"Fine. Just one spin and I'm back to my game." They made space for me to join their circle.
Being the luckiest girl, the bottle ended up pointed towards.....me...yes of all the people...me!
"Yes!" Seyie said from behind. Since when did he stop playing his own game ?
"Nino, truth or dare?" Chumbeni asked.
I didn't want to go for truth since...well...for no definite reason.
"I'll go for the dare" By the time I realised what said, they all smirked and it was creepy.
"Nice. Just nice." Hetoshe eyed me.
"We need serious thinking fellas" Lini reminded them.
"What's so great about it?" I had to ask because they all went down, deep in thought.
"oh! i know" Ite exclaimed. "Let her go shopping alone."
Lini scoffed "You got to be kidding me. That is-"
"Fantastic" I completed for her. I know, I never shop alone since I have horrible fashion sense but at least it was not difficult. Besides there is always a first time for everything.
"-stupid" Lini and I said at the same time.
"Yes Stupid and too simple" Hetoshe agreed.
And all of them nodded their heads in agreement except Ite who pouted.
"I know the perfect dare for our...i mean Toshi's girl. Go on a blind date" Seyie dared me, giving me his famous grin.
