Audrey hated mornings but loved to watch the sun rise. How ironic was it. Her guess was she always tried to get the most out of her day and night thus leaving her to exhausted to always enjoy a rising sun, every artists appreciation for nature was part of the art gene code after all.
"Beep.beep.beep" her alarm went of for the fourth time, knowing she had no choice but to wake her case up or she'll miss her appointment with her agent. She dragged her body out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom.
Half an hour later rushing out the door she smacked into a firm body n went sprawling to the floor, "jeez Drey where the hell are u rampaging of to now!?" Her roommate Alex half yelled. "Oh shush alex stop been so cheeky I was rushing for the meeting I had set up with char shes reviewing some of my pieces."
"Oh man this is so exciting! I didn't realise its already Tuesday and your big meeting is today" alex smiled whole heartedly.
If it weren't for Alex's constant cheers and support for my work id be in a dark place. She was more then my roomie she was my best of friends, she's helped through rough times in college and critics from haggard professors who enjoyed squashing spirits. As an artist I always expect critic good and bad but professor hallow was a dirty old geezer with nothing but bitter words for aspiring artists, he made college hell. How he was allowed to teach was beyond my comprehension.
"Alex my lovely, let me run I've been late before, trust me it ain't pretty" I laughed.
"Sure will see you for dinner? I'm cooking tonight" Alex replied grinning.
"Sounds like a plan" I reply "bye!"
I rushed out with my art supply bag in hand, rushing to my car I threw in my bag. My trusty bag I didn't go to many places without it, I always found comfort in tagging it along everywhere I went.
Durban traffic was always ridiculous at this hour, taxis were like flys swerving dangerously, so driving took all my attention plus more. I rushed to the cafe hoping I wasn't to late otherwise Char would chew my head of for been stereotypically late as usual.
I rushed into the cafe on the pier overlooking the amazing ocean view and immediately found Char sitting at a corner table looking at the menu, I rushed over apologising for been late.
"You actually made it on time" Char said proudly. She was a good agent and a mentor always looking out for me, she was motherly but easygoing.
"You know Char I'm your favourite"
