I had always felt out of place
in this enclosed environment.
Their unfriendly stares
as they estranged themselves from me,
I had never experienced
the sense of belonging in this glacial cage.
"Because if you do,"
Not fearing of others alienating her,
she was always
dropping notes on my table.
Perhaps everyone else knew,
or perhaps they were unaware.
"you will go past the point of no return like me."
But none of it mattered to me,
as I maintained the one-way interaction
that was my only genuine connection in this classroom.
