Chapter 8

Meliana's POV

After I hung up with Baekhyun, I felt bad. I knew I blew him off but I had a reason. He had a schedule and I already set up a date with Fateema. I can't ditch Fateema to save my life. I got dressed to meet Fateema at the mall. Coincidentally, the same one I met Baekhyun at. Baekhyun's disappointed face flashed into my mind and I sighed. I wondered how angry he would be with me. There was a knock on my door and Lilo walked in.

"Hiya Mel," He said as he sat down on my bed.

"Hey Lilo. Are you ready to go to the party?" I asked him as I fixed my hair.

"Yep I can't wait to see Rickie," He replied happily. I smiled and turned to look at him.

"Lilo rememeber-"

"I know. Don't wander. Stay away from the things i am allergic to. Be polite and keep our reputation as a middle class family a good one." He interrupted.

"Okay then," I grabbed his hand and we walked to mom's room.

"Hey mom," I said. She was on the far end with a mannequin. The mannequin had a beautiful white dress on it with a red belt around it. She was walking around it and eyeing it closely. I guessed she was checking for mistakes.

"Hey kids," She looked up and smiled a bright smile. "Ready for the party Lilo?" She asked. Lilo smiled and clapped.

"I am so excited eomma!" He exclaimed. Mom gave him a motherly glare and he sighed.

"No more than 3 slices of cake," He said sadly. Mom sighed and held up four fingers.

"Because you have been a good boy lately," She started. "Four is your maximum amount of cake. No more Lilo," She warned. His face brightened up and he ran to hug her. She smiled and accepted his hug.

"I will pick him up at exactly 2:00p.m." I assured her.

"You better you chump," I smiled and waved goodbye as me and Lilo padded downstairs.

"I am so excited Mel,"

"Me too," I got in the car and drove to Rickie's house when I check Lilo's medication I sen thin running into the house. Rickie greeted him with open arms and I smiled as Lilo waved at me and then walked into the house. Afterward, I drove to the mall. Fateema was waiting outside.

"Why didn't you browse without me?" I asked as she linked her arm with mine.

"That would be no fun. Now would it?" She said. I smiled and walked to Forever 21. Fateema let go of my arm and ran towards the escalators. I jogged to catch up with her and together we hopped on and giggled all the way to the top. As I jumped off I bumped into someone. She dropped her purse and phone and I hurriedly help her pick it up. When I looked up my old friend Jaleena looked back at me. I stared in shock for a moment. I hadn't seen Jaleena since after junior graduation from high school.

"Jaleena?"

"Meliana?"

"Omg!" We exclaimed at the same time. we hugged each other for about a good 30 seconds before Jaleena pulled away and stared directly at Fateema.

"Fateema you are just as adorable as I remember." Jaleena stated before engulfing Fateema in a hug. Fateema happily hugged her back.

"Jaleena how have you been?" I asked.

"Oh I have been great. I am dating someone. One of his close friends is dating someone. You know everything is great," She smiled. "What about you?"

"Oh Fateema and I have been best friends for a while and so we have just stuck together. I am dating someone as well. What is your boyfriends name?" I asked.
