3 months had passed since the incident, Angela and Jared lived in a cosy 2-room apartment, under constant surveillance and protection. Her mother had died almost immediately after birth; she had been brave to the end, trying to make the world a better place. And now, as she placed the flowers by the gravestone, Jared placed his next to Bradley's, his only friend.

Without talking, they made their way to the silver, sleek aero-pod, and began the 2 mile journey home. Home was the new district, now belonging to D.E.A.D and the "Division" it was quiet, comfortable, and gave easy access to the new underground systems (owned, maintained and occupied by D.E.A.D) and the hospitals. They drove straight to the childcare hospital and, as they stepped into the complex noted that it was significantly warmer here than it was anywhere else. The heater was on full.

As they made their way towards junior room, they noticed that the conversations were  quieting  as they moved past. Finally, they arrived, a panicky nurse made her way over to them,

'is something wrong?' Jared asked, trying to stay as calm as possible,

'yes, junior was playing with his toys and we tried to feed him but, as soon as we took away his toy he screamed, he broke the windows and made 12 personnel temporarily deaf!'

Jared scoffed,

'well what do you expect; he is a half-deity.'

He turned around and started walking away

'Deity or not, I'm sure no baby should be able to do that! And... Those eyes, those horrible red eyes' Jared stopped. In a second he was on the nurse 'what did you say about his eyes?' the startled nurse stuttered the word red, then louder,

'they were red with tendrils stretching along his face'

Jared was no longer listening, he rushed to Angie, who was playing with Junior. He pulled her away 'Angie, there was an incident.' Angie couldn't be less interested, she waved him away and walked towards Junior Jared grabbed her hands,

'his eyes! Angie, his eyes were red.'

 Jared took a breath

'He's back.'

Behind them, little junior smiled a toothless grin.

The most sinister toothless grin a baby ever made.
