The feel of their hands touching over the center console, each other's presence as addicting as heroin.

Before she could stop herself, she leaned in to kiss his cheek.

Before he knew it, he had turned his head, their lips connecting and moving in sync.

chapter 5

Initially stiff in shock, with touch and eyes shut, mouthes molded and lust seeped from milky to tanned skin. Calum's larger hand cupped her cheek, craning neck only to deject the seatbelt and turn her body to face him. Lips still tasted of cheap wine, with caution his tongue slipped in, as did Alice's.  Both went flush as teasing clench on full bottom lip earned a throaty moan from the young man.

Leaning in to place hands on shoulders and deepen the kiss, preoccupation lagged movement, his elbow consquently coming in contact with the car horn. The loud BEEP startling them and sending realization of their actions like intangible waves. They were felt but not seen, the second they turned to face away from one another in their seats.

"That didn't just happen." Weak voice cutting through the silence, hands slightly quaked as they went to caress where his hand had just laid. There were sparks at the source, verification it wasn't just a dream of some sort. "I'm a fûcking cheater."

Guilt bubbling in his stomach at the sight of tears welling in Alice's blue eyes, the grip teeth held on his now raw, swollen lip released.  He opened his mouth to speak , capturing the beatiful woman's attention. "No, you- I made a mistake. I'm the one who made a move, Alice. And I'm so-"

"Don't touch me," Calum's hand jetted out, a tear in his heart when she flinched. Fingertips  had barely ghosted over her bare shoulder. Tucking a loose golden hair behind her ear, knots in their throats formed, smiles tugging at lips momentarily. Each almost forgot how to breathe until he drew his hand back to rest on the center console, a sudden reeducation coming over them. "please."

"Sorry.", tone barely above a whisper, dark eyebrows furrowed as a sigh released from the housewife's now naked lips.

"Don't apologize, you're just a kid, you're my son's friend. I'm the adult and I took advantage of the situation, and I- I fûcking liked it which is just sick.", a light chuckle betrayed her melancholy sneer. The look in her eyes, the genuine way words flowed as she spoke, it all tugged at his heart strings making the most bittersweet melody.

However three words seemed to play in each of their minds like a broken record or squaking songbird.

'i liked it.'

'she liked it'

"But I liked it," wincing slightly as his words rushed out far too excitedly, her teasing smile burned into his skin as gaze shifted from manicured fingers to the flush painting his ears scarlet. Clearing his throat, Alice's eyes rolled playfully and he was loosened enough to speak. "A whole lot, actually."

"Well that's pretty obvious."

"How is it-", Calum's eyes flicked down, widening at the sight of he hard-on hardly hidden by the khakis (a/n well what are you wearing jake from state farm?) he was wearing. He was officially dying from embarrassment when he let out a cough and not so subtley readjusted himself. "Fûck."

Breath catching at the sheer size of his bulge, twitched smile and turn of her attention to the front seemed to shove away the dirty thoughts, for now. "I'm just as bad as him."

"Richard? Are you kidding me? If you count this as cheating, you're still far from even so don't worry about it.", the words slipping out carelessly in attempt to ease her mind, bodies tensed, the opposite occuring.

"What?", face screwing in confusion, the boy's words seemed to go in one ear and out the other, disbelief transforming into broken frustration, eyes meeting only for him to look away.

"You don't- nothing, it's nothing. Forget I even said anything.", unlocking the car doors, part of him wanted her to go. The other was silently begging for her to stay, but regret and self-loathing were the only things he could feel aside from attraction that he wouldn't act on, not now at least.

Luke had said he was finally going to tell his mum today. About the other woman his dad had been seeing, the lies, the pain, but he didn't . Silently insults hurled, soon to be said to his coward of a friend's face the next time he saw him, that was for sure.

"No, Calum tell me." Voice louder, tone more stern, the boy cursed under his breath at her stubbornness. What he feared most was happening, she wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer.

"It's not my place to.", trying to make his voice sound convincing, her glare melted right through it as if it scorched and he was just a sheet of flimsy cloth.

Scoffing in annoyance, she pressed on, wearing him down bit by bit. "So now you have boundaries?"

"What's that supposed to mean?", jaw clenched slightly, accentuating his carved bone structure, his discomfort was shown from the way his brows knit together to his fingers' anxious tapping on the steering wheel.

"For fûcks sake, Calum. A minute ago you just kissed me, and now you can't tell me something obviously important because it's not your 'place' to?", chuckling in bitter disbelief, with the spiteful laugh's fading , violent quiet (a/n im such top trash bye) was the replacement.

"I think it'd be best for you to leave now.", voice cracking on the final vowel, no joke or lighthearted tease came. Instead long, mascara coated lashes fluttered, resisting tears that threatened to spill in anger.

"For who? You? Because being lied to repeatedly and not knowing shît about things that concern me doesn't sound like the best for me.", words seemed to race after one another, tone wavering, but harshness consistent. Tension hung in the air, both hearts flush with blood and bruises, affection long gone and now just the adversary circumstance was hung in place.

"I don't want to hurt you.", carefully overlaying his palm with hers, despite flinch, fingers intertwined between knuckles, a small squeeze sending through only for grasp to release.

"Well it's too fûcking late for that.", aqua eyes softening as honey brown irises pleadingly bore, the colors fusing together only to separate when the passenger side door was pushed open.

"He's cheating on you.", his voice so shaky and low in volume that it barely rivaled a mumble, he was surprised when Alice turned back to face him.

"What did you-"

"I said he's cheating on you.", gruff and raw, the volume and deepness captivated the blonde.  He forced his eyes shut knowing it'd feel like knife piercing skin to see her reaction.

Stoic face crumbling, head shook vigorously as she came to her feet. Stiletto heals digging into the muddled grass lining the curb, her back  was all he could see, something he couldn't decide whether or not was a good thing."No, no, he-"

"This is why I wasn't going to fûcking tell you. You're so goddamn blind, Alice.", her body visibly going rigid, the words admittingly stung. The handsome boy's stomach fluttered as she turned back to face him briefly, immediately feeling pangs of remorse at the sight of her beautifully broken state.

"I-I just need time to think.", flashing a weak smile as she readjusted her falling shoulder strap, the thought of touching her once more came and with it a surge of confidence as he opened his mouth to speak only for the door to be slammed shut behind her."Wait, Alice-", Fingers brushing where her lips once pressed, as he watched her disappear inside the extravagant house, his heart never faltered in it's heavy beat."you deserve so much better."
