The Date

Recap: I grab my cell and head out the door for my date with Nathan.

Oh my god! I'm so excited! I hope I look okay. I took the keys to my dads work truck. He only lets me use it on the days he doesn't work which is usually Sunday and Thursday. i don't like to drive it though. It's really old and rusty.

I speed up and dash through the parking lot. I finally find a spot when a red corvette speeds into it first. What the heck! A girl with blond hair and extremely long legs flashes a look at me and laughs. I flip her off before I even realize who it is.

"Sorry! I didn't see you there." She shouts in a sarcastic tone. I am seriously going to strangle that little hussy.

i can see someone in the passenger seat but there obviously not trying to get out. Probably embarrassed; i would be too if i had to be trapped in a car with that witch.

I ignore her then swerve around to another spot a few cars away.

Why is she here? Why does she have to ruin everything? Why? Can someone please answer?

Urg!

I leap out of the car and quickly fix my hair for the eighteenth time.

I text Nathan who says he is already here. We promised to meet at the food court. Man, am I hungry.

Matt's POV

(Flashback)

After the party I decided to text Alex. Most of the guest were leaving. Good. I didn't want them here anyway or at least not now.

M- Hey it's Matt

A-Ummm hi?

Wow this is weird. What do I say?

M-Why did u runoff? I thot we were having a good time?

A- I have to babysit

M-Oh.

M-I really like u Alex

A-Nicole?

M- Nicole? Why would you....

"Hey baby" she stood in the doorway. Her hair was long and flowing in the breeze from the open windows. She looked as if she just got out of a movie or magazine. She was practically flawless but that's what made her a Winston. Her whole family is rich and well achieved in all areas. There is nothing she can't do. She may be supermodel gorgeous but she can't compare to Alex. "Don't call me that. We're not going out." I firmly said. I was still sitting on my bed when she walked over to where I was and threw herself on top of me. She had her legs straddled on either side of me. "Get off!" I hollered. My phone beeped. Dam. I think the unfinished message sent. "Who are you texting?" She asked. She quickly snatched my phone and ran to the bathroom. She locked the door so I couldn't get in. Beep.

Did she just send a text? To Alex? What did she say?

(Flashback Over)

I got out of the red corvette. I hope she didn't see me. This is awful . Why did I agree to go on date with Nicole? Oh yeah; because if I didn't she was going to make life a living hell. I just saw Alex running Into the mall. What's the rush? I wish we could talk. Maybe we can.....

Alex POV

I see him at a table for two; in the corner. He is wearing a bright red shirt with black shorts. His hair is a little messy but it's cute. "Hey Nathan" I say as I approach the table. He quickly stands up,"Hey Alex" he nervously says. We both sit down and stare at each other.

Awkward.

"Did you eat?" I ask. He shakes his head. After contemplating between Panda Express or Pizza we finally agree on Chinese food. "Mmm this is delicious" I say in between bites. He laughs. "What? What's so funny?" I ask. "You have rice on your cheek." He scoots closer to me. I watch as he grabs a napkin and wipes my face. I smile. "Thanks Mom" I mock. We laugh.

We talk about our schools, hobbies, things we like to do

and he told me that one day he will teach me how to spin the pizza, like they do in movies.

"Do you want to walk around?" He ask. I nod. We throw away our trays and begin walking towards the stores.

Matt's POV

"Matty, I'm hungry" she whines. Urg! She is so annoying. We head up to the food court, when I see her. Alex.

She is laughing and hanging all over some guy. I clench my fist. What is this guy doing with Alex? "What's wrong Hun ?" I gritted my teeth. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing."

Nathan's POV

Alex is so kind, sweet and pretty. She even went into a sports store with me. Most girls do all the shopping and just make me hold the bags. Alex is different, she is actually interested in what I like and what i want to do.

A girl in a pink tank top and jean shorts came running at us. "Nathan!" She hollered. Why is she here? She better not ruin my date.

Alex POV

I'm having such a great time with Nathan. He is a really cool guy. "Nathan!" Someone yelled.

A girl in pink came at us. She has light brown hair and fair skin. Wow! She's pretty.

She came and threw her arms around his neck. "Hey Ash." He mumbled. Ashley? Great. She has the same name as the little girl I babysit. Who I hate!

She released him then smiled at me. "Hey I'm Ashley." She put out her hand. "Alex." I shook.

She is probably his girlfriend and they're going to live happily ever after together while I die alone. "Alex this is my sister." Oooh. Plot twist. Didn't see that coming.

I feel relieved and actually smile at her. "Brother, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend" uh oh. "No....we're not...actually.. Are we..umm no I don't think" he stuttered. "We're just on a date" I reply. Dammit. That sounded so weird and ungrateful and......why is he smiling at me? "What?" I ask. Ashley's laughing at me also. "You were talking out loud." Oh shoot. "Really? Oh god that's embarrassing." I can feel my cheeks turning red.

He wraps his arm over my shoulder. "Your weird, you know that?" He ask. I let my arm go across his back. "A good weird right?" He looks at me then shrugs. "Jerk." I say as I punch him in the arm. We laugh.

Ashley comes from behind me and ask if school is almost over. "Yes! I'm so excited." I say a little to loudly. "Do you have promotion or a dance?" She ask. I think about our promotion dance coming up. "Ya we have a dance" I reply. She shrieks. "Let's go pick out dresses!" She rips me away from Nathan and rushes me to the nearest dress shop. "I'll just be out here, I guess" I hear Nathan shout. "No, come in. You can see me in dresses" I watch as a grin appears on his face. I knew that would persuade him.

We asked the cashier if she could get us a dressing room. Ashley was already piling clothes inside.

"Here, how about this one." Nathan asked. It was a short, short, short pink dress. "Umm Nathan, the dress actually has to cover everything!" He laughs.

"Oh my god!" Ashley screams. I rush over to her. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" I nervously ask. "Ya it's just that....we wear the same size!" She beams. I roll my eyes. Really? She got me to panic for this?

Ashley is a girly girl but she's nice not mean and rude,cruel and acts like.......is that her? Speak of the devil. Nicole Winston is walking into the dress shop. Matt? Why is Matt with her? Unless......they are going out! Well isn't this going to be a great day at the mall?
