Excuse the mistakes

Chase

I stormed into the conference room where my father held his meeting. At the point, I didn't care who I interrupted. My wife has been MIA for the past 24 hours and all I can get out of Kendra is that she is safe. I'm not sure what kind of, well. Know what kind of guy she dealt with in the past but that doesn't fly with me. We're married and married people don't run off and not tell their spouse where or why? I feel like my father knows where she is and I'm about to find out.

"Hello son, so nice of you to join the meeting," he said sarcastically. True, I was supposed to be there but no wife, no life.

"What did you say to her?"

"Who?"

"Cut the crap. What did you say to my wife?! I know you had something to do with it."

My dad looked around at the confused faces in the conference room. He was so big on being this perfect businessman but it was all a front.

"Son, I think we should discuss this in my office."

"I think we should discuss this NOW! WHERE. IS. MY. WIFE?"

The room quickly grew empty as people murmured amongst themselves. I guess all it takes is a little bass in your voice for people to take you serious.

Once the room was clear, my father loosened his tie and leaned back in his chair. "You have your nerve. Walking into my conference room, interrupting MY business meeting and for what? Your little wife.?"

"Yes, my wife. She's been gone for 24 hours and I know you did something. What? Did you run her off too? Like you did Alison?"

My father chuckled, leaning forward and crossing his arms on the table in front of him. His bald head glistened, as he cleared his throat.

"Is that what you think? That i ran Alison off? No, no, no. I PAID Alison to leave and she took it so that's not on me. She CHOSE to take the payout..."

I frowned, completely disgusted. How could anyone do something so immoral? So conniving? "So your saying you paid my wife to leave?"

"Oh, no. She turned down the money but maybe she just couldn't handle being a LaCore? I mean for crying out loud Chase, she's a ne....."

"Finish that sentence and I will forget you're my father. Yes, she's a black woman. A beautiful black woman and she's my wife and I love her so if you know where she is, please just tell me." I begged, the hurt in my voice, the worry on my face. She's somewhere, maybe hurt or going through a dark episode. I needed to find her. She needs me.

My father sat there in silence and I just threw my hands up. I headed towards the door when he called out to me.

"Chase.."

"Yes father?"

"If you walk out that door...."

"I quit...." I said as I shook my head in disbelief. So much for a family company. I walked out of the conference room and towards the elevator. Just as I was pressing the button, the doors opened and out ran Amy.

"Chase we gotta go! Skylar's on her way to the hospital."

"There was blood," Kendra kept repeating, in a daze as they all sat in the waiting area.

Sky been at her old apartment when she started having discomfort. She slowly footed to the bathroom, leaving a trail of blood. Kendra came by looking for Donnie and found Sky passed out in the bathroom.
