Tin Roof
As steady rain hits tin roof
steam hovers above pavement
wrapped only in each others skin
Sweat beads your brow
and my heart keeps time
We tangle under twilight
beneath that cool fan
feeling pulses race
and soft touches
while gentle murmurs
drown tapping rain
The whisper of your lips
lingers on warm moist skin
making memories
While pictures fade in corners
and flowers hang upside down
drying in remembrance
But we don't need those
My heart will always hold yours
your shadow kiss has soaked
deep below the surface
and into my soul
As steady rain hits tin roof
