Tears of joy
From her eyes
Mother cries
For her only boy
Home from war
From the pain
Lost his memory
Lost his name
He remembers not
The bloody hell
The armies struck
The cities fell
While fires burned
The people cried
The bullets flew
The people died
Then one day
As darkness fell
The message came
To leave the hell
While others left
He waited his turn
He heard not the shot
But felt the burn
Now in silence
He sits alone
Day by day
Growing old
Staring blankly
Into the sky
While mother cries
Her tears of joy
