~Ashley's POV~

Luckily the cheerleading tryouts weren't today because when I walked into my house it felt like I'd entered a war.

"ALLISA, GIVE IT BACK!" My younger brother, Breny, yelled. He's 14.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Allisa yelled back. She's only 8.

"Why do you always have to take my stuff!?!!!" Breny yelled once more.

I already had a head ache.

"What's going on here?" I asked while placing my bag down and walking over to the two munchkins. I'm 17 years old and only 5'4", but I'm a girl so I guess it's okay. But the fact that i still tower over my 14 year old brother? That's sad.

"She took my X box and all my games!" Breny screamed, cracking his voice when he said "games".

A slight smile spread across my lips but I quickly wiped it off. "Cut the yelling," I said, and it was just in time.

"What in gods name is going on in there?!" My mom yelled from the other room.

This is not making my head ache any better. Welcome to my world.

"Nothing mom," I said. Yes, I'm a mature young lady, but I will not rat out my own blood. That's just harsh cruelty, "give him back his game." I said to Allisa.

"Maybe if he'd stop playing that game so much and actually spent time with his sister, he wouldn't have things taken from him!" She yelled, I rubbed my hands down my face.

"Well if you stopped being such a whiny little brat then maybe a boy would ask you out and you wouldn't be so lonely!" This time I did smile. (DAMNNN SHOTS FIRED)

Alissa gave me a squinted look and then marched of to get Brenys game... I hope. As I grabbed my bag to head upstairs me and Breny shared a quick high five, I'd give him props later. To be honest I was scared for my sister to see me talking to him at all after that. She may be tiny, but she's a ball of aggressiveness.

"Tomorrow after school, 5:45 sharp!" Emily said. I'd called her to find out information about the cheerleading tryouts.

"Okay, I'll be there." I said assuringly.

"Hey, why don't you just come over after school." She suggested.

"I don-" I got interrupted by a burst of argument next to my room, I took a deep breath, "that's a great idea."

And it was set. I would not have a head ache tomorrow!

So much for no head aches. I stayed up last night doing homework and the rest of my time on my phone. I got an hour of sleep at the most.

I'm an currently in acting class, we're supposed to be getting in partners assigned by the teacher, of course.

On the first day of school she asked us to volunteer acting out a skit and no one did. She asked us to get in partners and write a small play and no one did. So, from that point on, she chooses partners and gives us our assignment and its up to us to decide to do it or not. If we don't do it, Mr.Zero comes to town and jacks up our GPAs... Thanks Ms.bitchypants.

"Ms. Anderson?" Ugh, I could recognize that voice anywhere.

"Yes Veronica?" UGH, I almost puked at the sound of that name.

Veronica likes to talk behind people's back, non-stop. She's been extra rude to me since elementary school. I don't understand why, I've never done anything to her!

"May I work with Ethan?" She asked.

Ooooo, I feel bad for him. She's a bitch and everyone knows. I bet this "Ethan" even knows.

The teacher looked at her sheet. "Ahh, sorry Veronica, Ashley's with Ethan today."

Great, just what I needed.

I turned around in my seat to find Veronica giving me the death stare. I grinned and waved, then swished myself back around to face my desk. I almost had a heart attack when I did.

"Dear god!" I said grabbing my chest, "you scared the hell out of me."

"Sorry," the kid said laughing, "and hey, thanks for the save."

I looked up to see a boy, dark hair, dark eyes, perfect lips, fine jawli- woaaaaah Ashley, take a step back.

"Uh, I didn't choose the partners." I said confused. Deep down I was praying to the gods above that I wasn't blushing.

"Well you're here." He said smiling. I blinked... What. I guess he sensed my confusion since a beat later he started talking again, "if you weren't here, she would've probably put me with Veronica."

I couldn't figure out if this kid was stupid or just annoying. For such a quite class he talked a lot. But then I realized something, his cheeks were flushed.

That just made me blush even harder. Greeeaaattt.

*ring ring*

That was the bell letting us know that we were free to go.

"See you tomorrow Ashley." Ethan said, loud enough for Veronica... And all of Europe, to hear.

I smiled, "Bye Ethan."

"Oh I almost forgot," he said jerking his body backwards.

He reached onto the table and grabbed my phone. After about 30 seconds later he placed it down, waved to me, and walked away.

I looked at my phone.

New Contact: Ethan (;

Well played Ethan, well played.

A little secret about me? I love football. Not just watching it, but playing it. Not a lot of girls know how to hold a football correctly, let alone throw one. Many girls think they can kick a soccer ball, but can they kick a football aiming inbetween two poles from 40 yards away? Not a lot of girls have even tried wearing shoulder pads, but I have.

My oldest brother used to play football. He was the teams star player. He's 19 now, but during his junior year he got really hurt. Busted some nerves in his knee, never played again. After the "accident" , him and I became quite close.

It's not like he didn't try to get back into football, it was his life, he couldn't just give it up. He started playing football when he was in elementary school and I went to every practice and game with him. I eventually started to practice with his team. As they got older and higher in level of excellence, so did I. His coach eventually got me my own pair of shoulder pads. But once my brother was out of middle school, I stopped practicing with him. I was in 7th grade and he was a freshman. What high school kid wants a little 12 year old girl playing with them?

When he would practice at home, I'd always get my gear on and go outside. He taught me himself, I was his creation. As his high school years went by, we grew apart a little. But after his accident and surgery he was home a lot. He still doesn't play football, he's in law school following my fathers footsteps. I still see the sorrow in his eyes every time I see him.

So I haven't given up on football, I still practice all the time when he's home and with my dad and Breny. But I don't have the guts to tryout for the team. They probably wouldn't let a girl on anyway...
