"There are two things to remember about this nightmare town," Daemon stated, swinging his gaze around like a paranoid psycho. "Everyone here can only ever be…nice. Two, they don't care who you are, or where you come from…they will try to convert you into their nice ways." I pondered his words for a moment, then beamed.
"They're pretty much the opposite to you then?"
He sighed "pretty much…"
"You're psycho and they are normal."
He tilted his head. "No, they are freaks! And psycho is just another way of saying 'adorable with knives'."
I looked at him dryly. "Daemon…no offence, but nothing about you and knives is adorable…"
He coughed "How about if it was just me, no knives..?"
I swung my gaze around, avoiding eye contact with him. "Is there something you're trying to tell me..?"
A malicious smirk appeared. "Nothing at all Scarlet..." He stood up from the cream sofa.
I waddled after him, my rear side still stiff from the long trip through Daemon's hell land. "Wait! What did you mean by that?!"
He continued out of the room and into the lobby, strutting in his dark jeans, and leather jacket. "Slow down badass!"
He stopped in my path, making me skid to a halt inches from his chest. "Me? Bad? Never! I'd like to think of it as mischievously creative."
I faked a cough into my hand. "I was talking about your clothes…"
Our emotions swapped over. His bottomless smile turned to a sour frown. I lost my sulk and gained a grin; A classic two for one moment.
"Sometimes I wish you could be just a bit more slightly specific…" he scowled.
Shrugging I replied, "It makes things between us more interesting."
"That's something I don't want…" he sighed, following my out of our new accommodation. I was still having trouble with how clean and cheery everything was here. I kneeled down examining the wooden steps; I swear I could see smiley faces carved into them.
Daemon shuddered next to me. "Creepy place isn't it…"
Nodding as I got back to my feet. "I actually agree, this place is almost as creepy as you."
He released a gag chuckle. "Ha-ha, you should be a comedian…" I shrugged suddenly freezing at the sight of…a food cart. Rubbing my food deprived stomach, Daemon patted my head. "You a little hungry there Scarlet?"
I gawked. "What do you think Oh captain obvious?"
"I thought my nickname was Grumpy Stumpy?"
I rolled my auburn eyes. "Both of them are! Now please…can you get me something to eat?"
"I will, but just for the sake of what's left of my sanity…don't get into any trouble." With a wave and one last 'don't move' stare he disappeared into the crowd.
I sat back, beaming brightly in bliss. I was gonna fill my belly, with food, edible stuff. I don't usually have a fat person's desire for food, but Daemon seems to be starving me.
As minutes passed, my hunger grew, not for Daemon, but the substance he'll bring to silence my bowels. I slumped forward, numbing my backside on the wood steps.
…
This had to be fate, not only because I had been following her, but because halfway into this crazy place I lost her, and now by unbelievable luck I had found her again.
I lent behind a nearby tree, gazing love-struck at her ominous black hair darting around her back; not a Daemon in sight. This was my chance to get her, though after last time, I'm not exactly sure how I will accomplish that.
Appearing in front of her, I put my flirt face, bowing as her eyes met mine. Her expression was something like a confused banana. "Um…can I help you with something?"
I sat next to her, leaning in close. "Nothing but you my light," then lifting her hand to my lips.
Scarlet slowly brought her hand back, wiping it on her jeans. "I'm sure I'm not your light Elapse…and please, if you ever feel the need to touch my hand with your lips again…don't."
I nodded hesitantly rattling my brain to think of something else to say to her. "Did you know the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound?" Maybe she'll think I'm intelligent, she likes intelligent men right...
"So that's why so many people appear bright...until they speak." She muttered standing, then steadily shuffling away.
I slammed my palm into my forehead, staggering to my feet and grabbing her shoulder. "Look Scarly I'm sorry, can you just stop trying to get away from me?"
She whipped her head around, raising one of her thin eye brows. "Elapse let go of me!"
My nerves went ballistic and my eyes began to twitch. "We could just have dinner together, please just let's try to hang out? My cooking is fabulous." I replied hopefully.
Sighing she pulled away. "Yea, I'm sure even the smoke alarm cheers you on."
Frustration got to me; I lost my control and wrenched her back, pinning her on a building wall, ogling down at her as she gasped in shock. I gritted my teeth together, regret of my actions already sinking in.
Scarlet…I didn't mean to-"
She took a deep breath in then she unleashed a deadly cry. "SEXUAL ASSAULT! SEXUAL ASSAULT!"
Hurriedly I buried my hand onto her lips, trying to silence her cries for help. However it was too late, a storm cloud of people came roaring in…including Dickmon…
I tried to calm the growing crowd before Daemon got too close, but it didn't change a thing, besides maybe make me the centre of attention. This isn't usually a bad thing, but I would rather not be pummelled.
I could see Daemon and his steaming rage on the horizon, rapidly getting closer with each
second thay passed. I swept Scarlet in front of me, resting my forearm around her slender neck. "Come any closer sir, and I shall wring her neck."
Daemon hissed with his dark dilated eyes. "If you even try, I will kill you Elapse!"
I couldn't help but show my teeth to him, and just to add to his raging anger; I pressed my lips onto the side of her neck, feeling the delight of her goosebumps sailing over her skin.
He disappeared from my line of vision, and before I could even blink, my neck was grasped tight and I was being chocked, dragged down. My hold of Scarlet was broken, but I was still being constricted.
I didn't even breath, but his grip was making my system shut down. I could feel myself slipping from consciousness. The last image I saw was...her, her dark eyes and hair, flowing, bordering her face; she was screaming out in panic… thay was until...I was swallowed up by darkness.
