000 | JASON

"If you came here looking for him, he's been gone for a while."

The sound of someone else's voice scared the shit out of me, causing me to almost shoot my gun, until I glanced over at the second level of the warehouse.

Her jean-clad legs were perched on the safety railing as she sat back. The only thing I was actually able to make out from her was the black sole of her shoes.

"You work for him?" I asked, staying in the same position with my gun still in hand - for safety measures. She stood up from her seat and rested her hands on the railing, big hazel eyes staring down at me in the dim warehouse lighting.

I carefully watched as her shoulders rose up in a shrug, causing her light brown curls to bounce a little, while she flashed me a small smile. "Maybe." God, why do people have to over complicate things? It's literally a yes or no question.

Tilting her head slightly to the side and raising a dark eyebrow at me, she talked again. "What'll happen if I do?" I couldn't help but laugh in my head at what Bruce would do if he knew I found a criminal attractive, but damn; she was definitely a sight.

I raised my gun at her, a small smirk hidden behind my helmet. "If you're one of his, then I'll have no other choice." The sound of the gun cocking filled our ears, but she showed no sign of fear at the sound.

Instead, her nose scrunched up in disgust at my words, "I'm not 'one of his'." My eyes followed her hand as she reached into the pocket of her jacket; it fit her so big compared to her small frame.

The flash of silver alarmed me a bit, knowing she was armed now. "Then, what?" I searched around for some kind of leverage, until my eyes finally landed on a crate I could jump on. "Are you one of his casual fucks?"

"I'm not a whore, Jason." If it wasn't for the mention of my name or the satisfactory smirk on her face at my reaction, then I would've agreed with her tone of disgust; being a whore to Penguin sounded absolutely disgusting.

"How?" My plan from earlier was quickly thrown out, with a new one being made up on the spot. "How the hell did you know?" Before she could even react, I made my way up there - finally being able to catch her by surprise.

"Answer me." I exclaimed, roughly taking ahold of her shoulders and harshly pushing her back against the concrete wall. She winced a bit, but the look of excitement on her face never faltered.

"How intimate of you, Jay." She teased, eyeing the position we were in. "If we both weren't holding guns, I'd think you were trying to get in my pants." The gun she held in her hand quickly dropped when I pushed her further back into the wall out of anger.

"How do you know who I am?" I asked again, ignoring her previous statements as anger completely filled my voice. Her gaze shifted away from mine and over my shoulder.

The sounds of doors slamming open and a gun being shot caught me off guard, almost resulting in a bloody mess. If she hadn't roughly pushed me off of her, I would've had another injury added to my list.

"Lyla!" A familiar voice, which I quickly recognized as Two-Face, called. "Where are you?" I looked up at her, her body laid out over mine, as she looked around for an exit.

The large crate beside us offered us a quick hiding spot as we headed towards the large window on the side, with her jumping out first. If it hadn't been for her, I probably would've still been in there with my own set of bullets going all over the place.

"Bad blood between you two?" I asked, glancing over at where she sat on the side of the roof. She let out a laugh, shaking her head in the process, at my question.

"More like someone who doesn't handle rejection well." The idea of Harvey being pissed because a girl said no to him was actually quite entertaining. "And someone who has a very violent side."

"How could you say no to him?" I laughed, trying to piece together what I was going to do now. "I thought it'd be fun. Since it's like a two in one package, y'know?"

It took her a moment before she laughed again, covering her face in the process. "Actually," she put a stop to her laughter, a serious tone quickly taking place. "I just got out of a break-up with a dick, literally."

My back was turned to her, so she wasn't able to see me tense up a bit at the familiar name. "Wait. You don't mean-" I turned to look at her but was instead met with an empty space.

Well, how about that.

Jason is definitely one of my favorite characters, so that's how this happened. I hope I was able to get his POV right. (:
