“Where do you guys want to eat?” I asked.

“Surprise me.” Kim answered.

Lena and I exchanged a look and at the same time we exclaimed, “Chimpoo’s!”

Kim looked at us doubtfully but agreed to come with us. My dad had given me his car keys the day before which meant that I could drive his car the whole weekend.

“Let’s go!” I said.

“Shotgun!” Lena yelled, but Kim was faster and got to the front seat before Lena.

“That’s not fair! I said shot gun.” Lena said as she pouted.

“If you could get everything in life as long as you say shot gun first, the world would be a sad place.” Kim retorted. When she said that I looked at Kim in admiration and was about to say that that was very smart and mature of her to say, but then Kim ruined the moment by sticking out her tongue at Lena. I rolled my eyes at both of them as Lena got in the backseat grudgingly.

As I started driving Kim turned on the radio and began looking for a good station. She fell on the song “Opposite of Adults” by Chiddy bang, and immediately both girls started singing along. The funny thing was that they could both do the rap without a problem.

I shook my head in amusement at the two. Every second that passed I realized more and mire how alike Lena and Kim were. I wasn’t surprised they were such good friends. When the song was done Lena and Kim high-fived each other. A few other songs passed, but none of us knew the lyrics. Kim started talking a bit about my old school, but we soon stopped when we realized that Lena was being left out.

We arrived at Chimpoo’s soon enough, and just seeing the outside of the restaurant made Kim look at us in astonishment. She didn’t say anything though, and Lena and I glanced at each other, already laughing in advance at what Kim’s expression would be when she saw the monkeys.

She definitely didn’t disappoint us because when she entered the room the first thing she said was, “Why are there human size monkeys walking around in here?”

Her eyes were wide open as she asked us this, and they were glued on the humans dressed in monkey suits. Lena and I just laughed at her reaction and Lena grabbed her arm and dragged her with us, when we realized that she wasn’t walking behind us.

We sat down at one of the tables in the corner; the one right under the palm tree that had coconuts on it.

“More people die per year because a coconut falls on their head, then because of shark attacks.” Kim finally said after having stared for a full minute at her surroundings and eyeing the coconut above her head. “I just thought I should mention that.”

“The great fearless Kim who can take on a judo expert without flinching is afraid of a coconut?” I mocked.

“Of course not.” Kim answered crossly. “I just felt like sharing that with you.”

“Well thank you for telling us that random fact.” I said with a grin.

“Whatever.” Kim muttered. “Is there food in this place?”

“Well I hope you like banana’s because every single dish has bananas.” Lena answered.

“Really?” Kim asked her eyes going wide. “And it’s actually edible?”

“I asked the same thing the first time I came here.” I admitted. “It actually is really good.”

The waiter came by to get our drink orders, and give us the menus. Lena got the banana coke, while Kim and I got the banana tea.
