She looks at them everyday
As they all pass by
She can't help but concede
That she hopes one day someone will notice her
Her papa's gone
So is mama
She's alone in her little hole in the wall
The days that the thunder comes rolling in are the worst
Those are the days she misses them the most
She goes knocking from door to door sometimes
Asking for help and they all look at her in pity
Barely understanding a words she says
Covered in dirt from head to toe
She tries to clean herself but she doesn't know how
After nothing but a piece of loaf
She crawls back home
To her little hole in the wall
And sits there patiently waiting for someone
The worn through blanket wrapped tightly around her tiny shivering body
She counts the stars through the rain until she falls asleep
She can't help but wonder about her big brother
Does he know where she is?
With that though in her mind she makes a wish on a star and falls asleep
She awakes each day to her stomach grumbling
She crawls all the way to market in the center of town
She tries to find some food for the day
But people keep shoving her away
Away from the bread stall
She looks around and then hopelessly crawls home
She crawls back into her little hole in the wall
And just stares at everyone passing by
No one noticing her at all
The hours seem to fly by
The days blend together until a week has passed
She gets weaker and weaker by the day
On the 8th day she gets a surprise
Her brother finally finds her tucked into her little hole in the wall
Her worn though blanket wrapped around her trembling body
He calls her name and she weakly calls out to him
Trying to get his attention
When she finally does he runs over like the wind
Her hunger had taken over her body by then and she was weak
4 years ago she entered the world in her mother's arms
And now she leaves it in her brother's
The only words little Kathleen ever said to anyone
Were the last words she said to her brother
"Promise me you'll be kind"
And with one final shaky breath 4-year-old Kathleen left the world
Hungry and in fragile she told him to be kind
She left this torturous world and ran towards her mother
Her brother left on Earth left with his tears and sorrow
He swore that he would be kind to everyone he saw from then on
And 4-year-old Kathleen looked down on him
Happy that he kept his promise to her

Puzzle Pieces
ΠοίησηThis is a book that is just going to be filled with a bunch of bits and pieces that I found lying around my writing folder... They will probably vary between one shots, short stories, poems, or excerpt that haven't been finished.
