Chapter one: Grandma's Strategies
As I hear the windows bang with the wind of the night, I slowly open my eyes and look frightened by the sound of it. I look around as if someone was in my room. Relieved that it was just the wind..I closed my eyes and proceeded to think about the day ahead of me. My friends Abby, Julia, and Hailie and I, would be going to the haunted park later that night, I mean Abby is so scared of any goblins or ghouls. I think Abby was even afraid of her own shadow! I don't think that Abby would last 5 seconds without freaking out like her normal self. That Friday night ahead of us would be one of the best nights, not soon forgotten, roller coasters rides, and haunted houses! I mean I couldn't wait I don't know about the rest of the girls. After thinking about what would be happening later on in the day, I puffed up my pillow using my hand to make it softer. Soon after I layed my head carefully on the pillow, and began to count sheep. Grandma always use to tell me when I couldn't sleep that I should just count sheep! As I began counting..1 sheep, 6 sheep, 24 sheep. Mother walked in my room and pulled the covers just above my chest and planted a kiss right on my sleeping cheek. The whole day I was restless, as my body was asleep my mind kept on replaying about how happy it was to finally get some rest during this cold, damp, fall night.
