Maddie's POV

I could see the hard work Logan was putting in to his studies. He rarely broke any rules in school and started to actually read. It was quite shocking and a little bit scary. If he had a motivation to push him, he would do something. Which made me shiver in fear in what he had in store for me if he got all A's in his finals. What was he planning that made him study so hard?

One day, I couldn't stand it anymore and asked him.

"Just tell me what you're wishing for."

"I'm not going to," he replied with a playful smirk. "It got you curious, huh?"

"Of course. I don't want you to do something bad to me, or worse."

"You know that I won't do anything to hurt you," he replied, seriously. "But it could be something really embarrassing."

"Logan!" I cried, unable to stand the secret. "You're horrible."

He just chuckled and pulled me against him.

"What are you doing? Josh is home and your dad will be too," I told him, struggling against his arms.

"And who says that we have to keep our relationship a secret? You were secretly avoiding me at school too. Why can't we say anything?"

"I don't want anyone to know."

"Are you ashamed of me?" He asked, angry.

"No!" I cried. "Of course not. People will talk."

"Who gives a shit about what people will say? Tell me if they're harassing you and I'll beat the shit out of their arse."

"Language," I hissed. "Josh could hear."

"I curse when I'm angry," he seethed out. "You going to allow me to kiss you out in public?"

I blushed at his sudden talk. "What are you talking about? That's embarrassing," I said quietly.

He sighed loudly and stared at me as I squirmed away from his body. "Let go. I promise Josh that I'll go take him to the park."

He gave me a look that said this wasn't over. "I'll come with. I'll even drive."

"You don't need to drive. We'll walk. Besides, it's great outside." I went upstairs to Josh's room. "Josh, are you ready? Let's go."

"Yay!" Josh yelled and jumped towards me. "Let's go. I've been waiting for forever Maddie."

"Sorry shorty. Logan's coming with us too."

Josh grinned widely. "Logan can play with me."

"Of course he will," I said, smiling.

We all walked towards the park. There weren't a lot of people there, mostly little kids and as soon as we reached the park, Josh took off into the playgrounds. I followed Logan to the benches and sat next to him.

"So what made you want to come? I thought you don't like these things."

"'these thing'? What do you mean?"

"You know, playing with little kids."

"I'm not playing with little kids. I'm having a date with my girlfriend," he corrected.

"Oh," I said, baffled.

Logan started laughing. "Look at your face. It was priceless."

I glared at him and punched him. "You're so mean."

He just chuckled and surprisingly took my hand in his. "You know," he started. "I never had real girlfriend. Just hookups."

My heart winced at hookups, but I continued listening to him.

"I realize that hookups did nothing for me and I felt nothing for the girls. They were pointless, so I cut off all relationships because I didn't want to get hurt anymore. My mom..." Logan swallowed uncomfortably as I looked at him. I gave him a squeeze and he smiled painfully.

"She left my father for another richer man. Just like that one day. She just walked off on us. Maddison, she really hurt me." He held my hand tightly to the point where our hands turned white. "That's when I lost all my emotions, until you came. You broke me." He smirked. "In a good way. I wanted to trust you, hold you, embrace you anywhere. Tell the world you're mine and only mine."

"How did you just connect everything together?" I whispered.

"I have a talent," he said grinning and leaned towards me.

"Right here and right now?"

"I'm itching for it," he whispered. "Don't reject me."

His lips touched mine gently before he grew impatient and growled as his tongue slipped past mine.

"What are you guys doing?"

I yelped and quickly pushed Logan away from me. "We're doing nothing," I told Josh while Logan licked his lips.

"You're sister was lying Joshy boy. We were kissing. That's what we do when we are a couple."

"Shut up," I said. "Don't listen to him."

"What?" Josh asked in a confused face. "Whatever. I want you to play with me."

"Okay. Did you want to play?"

"No I'll stay here and watch you guys."

I left with Josh and we went to the swings. A couple minutes later, we were off in our own worlds, so I didn't realize that Logan had left.

Logan's POV

Those son of a bitches, I thought as I quietly walked away from the park. They followed me here. The stupid gang bastards that couldn't leave me alone. Just because I did one job for then and refuse the rest, they think that they have a right to hurt me and piss the hell off of me. Angrily, I called Pipe and Doug to see over Maddie and Josh as I go finish some business.

Ten minutes later, I wrapped up the event and kicked the man in the black suit in the stomach one last time before I was content. I grabbed his collar before he turned unconcious.

"Tell your freaking boss to stop bothering the fuck off of me before things get really serious. Another experience like this and I'll come straight to your fucking lair and kill you myself," I threatened in his face as he cowered against me.

"You hear me!?"

He nodded pathetically and I shoved him to the ground, licking my cut lip that I got from the fight. They barely harmed me, but got a few good punches before I went crazy. A bruise on my face was going to show, but hopefully no one was going to notice. I called Doug.

"Dough, are they home?"

"Yeah," Doug replied. "Madison's wondering where you are and why you left her at the park. She looks pissed."

"Tell her I had some business to take care of and I'm coming home right now."

"You in trouble man?"

"Nothing that I can't handle. Hanging up."

I looked at the trash one last time before I headed home.
