Chapter Fourteen: The Death of a good Man.

Start from the beginning

Arthur is at my side, "I'm sorry Arthur," I tell him. He passes me the sword and sits down next to his fathers body and puts him into his arms. "I love you father," he whispers looking at his dying father tears coming to the surface.

"Merlin!" screams Jordon as he drops the sword and Morgana picks it up and she slashes him with it.

"Jordon!" I say loudly sprinting towards them as I watch in horror the sword sliding through Jordon's gut.

I scream loudly but I charge forward and take my advantage and slide the sword into Morgana's gut. At first she smirked thinking I was stupid but then her eyes light up.

"Impossible," she whispers.

"No. You are not immortal to this blade Morgana. I told you, you will die here."

She grabs the sword and slides the sword into my side quite far before I push her away and the sword comes out with it. I chuck her on the ground hard and take both swords leaving her there to die.

I turn to check on Jordon to find Morgause smacking me right in the face. I drop both swords and both our eyes look to them. I feel the blood already soaking up my t-shirt and brown jacket and the dizziness taking over.

I shout a spell loudly it hitting right into Morgause and she flies into the wall and she lays there eyes wide open, Dead.

"No," Morgana whispers.

"I am sorry for all that has happened Morgana but you was not going to last forever like this. We had to stop this. I am truly sorry. I wish there could of been another way," I whisper to her.

"There was never another way," she says as she closes her eyes.

I crawl over to Jordon. "Jordon," I whisper but I knew he had died already. His eyes are half open, pool of blood already soaks the floor.

"I am sorry, Jordon. You was a good man underneath it all," I whisper as I close his eyes properly.

"Merlin," whispers Arthur.

"I am sorry Arthur," I begin.

Arthur had left his fathers body on the floor but he made him look peaceful. "Are you alright?" he asks me looking at my side.

"I'll live trust me. Where is Rue?"I ask.

"I don't know...she has vanished."

"We did it Arthur. Might not of all made it but we did," I tell him.

Arthur looks over at his father and again and then at me, "I know but maybe its time for a fresh start. What do you say...Merlin personal advisor of King Arthur," he says to me putting out his hand.

I take it and shake it, "Sure King Arthur," I smile right at him.

"We better go help the others still an army out there," says Arthur.

"Let's go," I say holding onto my side in pain.

"You sure your able?" he asks.

"Who else is going to stop them? I have magic, I'll take them down quicker. I can get patched up after, Arthur."

"Alright then come on," he says as we leave the throne room but Arthur looks back. "We'll give him a proper funeral and Jordon," he adds.

"Yeah we will."

One Year Later

"Sire what do you suggest?" asks Leon as we all sit up around a round table. All knights, Queen Gwen, Gaius and of course you couldn't forget me. Merlin King Arthur's Personal Advisor

"Merlin any ideas?" he turns to me to his left.

I smile at him, "I would only suggest one thing Arthur," I say to him.

"Go on."

"I suggest we travel to the village and check on the state of the attack. The people will respect you for your commitment to your Kingdom," I smile to him.

"Your right. We will set out first thing tomorrow and now a even bigger issue is at hand," says Arthur.

"Which is?" Leon asks confused.

"I know," smiles Gwen to Arthur's right.

"What?" asks Gwaine confused as Leon.

"We have celebrations to sort out," says Arthur.

"For what?" I ask now confused.

"For your birthday silly," says a voice from the doors of the throne room.

We all turn in sync to find my mother Hunith at the door. "Mum!" I shout as I get up from the table and go over to her to give her a hug.

"I invited her. It's a special occasion Merlin and you have not had the chance to be a center of attention," laughs Arthur.

"Arthur," I snap but laugh straight after.

"Come on Merlin. For once lighten up," he jokes.

"Alright then but the village is more important that comes first, "I tell him.

"I know."

I look over at Gaius and we smile to each other. Things had really worked out. We had made it to Albion's finest days and we hoped it would last for many years to come.
