                                                                 Chapter 16

          The time of the coronation comes quickly, and before I know it I'm in a floor-length Emerald green ballgown with my hair in an elegant updo. I'm also wearing a beautiful tiara that belonged to my mother before she became queen.
          "You ready?" Riley says distracting me from my thoughts.
          "Ready as I'll ever be..."
          "You'll do great." He brushes a strand of hair out of my face and gently kisses my forehead.
           "I'm terrified, Riley... I can't do this," I cry on his shoulder, and he holds me tight.
           "Don't be scared. With everything that's happened this week, this will be a piece of cake. I promise." There's a short pause before he continues, "Oh, I got you something." He pulls a small box from his pocket and hands it to me. "It's not much, but it reminded me of you." I slowly unwrap the box and find a bracelet made of sea shells with a different tiara painted on each one.
            "Thank you, it's beautiful. I'll wear it every day." I wrap my arms around his neck, and my mother walks up.
           "Time to go, Audrey!"
             Riley slides my bracelet around my wrist, and gives me a reassuring smile. I walk off with my mother to the same double doors as before. As the doors open, I gaze at the crowd for a few seconds and make my way to the podium.
             "Hello, again, everyone! I'm sure you've all heard by now that I will still be accepting the title of queen today." I look around the audience and find Riley and Wyatt, both giving me nods of approval, letting me know that I'm doing ok.
             "Like I said yesterday, everything that's happened will be explained today. Where to begin is the question." I can hear my voice shaking from all of the nerves. I look down at the bracelet Riley gave me to calm me down, but it doesn't work. "Um... my brother Wyatt would like to say a few words," I say desperate to get off stage. Wyatt walks up to the podium.
             "Thank you... Audrey," he says clearly thrown off guard. "Well, how about we start by singing our national anthem!" While everyone sings, Riley and his parents calm me down. I look over at my parents, who are clearly annoyed with me being so unprofessional. As the song ends, I walk back up on stage and give Wyatt a small smile of thanks.
           "Thank you, Wyatt, for that. I would also like to thank all of you for supporting me so much in just the short amount of time I've been here. Back in Hawaii, I didn't have any friends, but I did have one amazing best friend who's always been there for me. You may remember me instructing Tiffany Blackwell to be arrested yesterday. She actually went to my school and joined forces with the Russian army. I doubt she had any interest in taking over the country; she just wanted to see me fail. Also, since I haven't lived here my whole life, I feel like I should tell you more about myself."
               I proceed to tell them how I was sent to Hawaii when I was three years old and how I never had the slightest idea that I could possibly be royalty. I tell about Riley and his family and how I went from thinking I was nothing but a hated high school girl to realizing I was a queen in a matter of hours. I go through everything about myself, my family, and how we all got to where we are now. But no matter how hard I try, no words could ever paint the picture of how all of this chaos made our family so close. It is true that if it weren't for the "Duke" and his group I wouldn't have been sent to Hawaii and none of this would have happened, but through everything that's happened I met my best friend and an amazing couple that I'm proud to call my family as well. Though it may be hard to see at times, God has a purpose for everything that happens. It's all part of His great plan.

After this chapter I will be posting a sequel to Island Princess called, of course, Island Queen! In the sequel you will be able to see much more of the characters personalities! You will definitely see more of Audrey's parents, Riley, Riley's parents, and some new characters! I will also post in this book when the sequel is up so you'll know.
