I shuddered in disgust, and to my relief, Sam appeared, “Leave her alone Brandon, shouldn't you be dry humping a slut or something?” We laughed, but Brandon just glared at Sam.
“Right, Clarks, and when are you planning to tell her you're gay?”
“You're gay?” I gasped, turning to Sam.
“No!”
“Getting defensive are we? The first step to accepting it, is to stop denying it.” Sam aimed a punch at Brandon's head and he dodged it easily, “Haha, I'm joking man, chill out. So, are you two like, here on a date or something?”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“What?” We looked at each other; me with an eyebrow raised in question, Sam with a hopeful glint to his eyes.
“Get in their, son!” Brandon hollered and went in for a high-five from Sam.
“Are you still here?” I asked him rudely when Sam feebly slapped his hand.
“Jeeze, chill, Little Girl, I'm off,” he made his way past us, “Later, Sam!” I followed him with my gaze and saw him grope someone among the crowd.
“Is he always this... Whore-ish?” I asked, shuddering.
“Pretty much,” Sam cleared his throat, “Here, what do you think of this? Wait, close your eyes,” he helped me put the jacket on, then led me to what I assumed was a mirror. “Okay, open your eyes!” His voice was filled with excitement, all awkwardness of our previous conversation forgotten.
I opened my eyes and looked at my reflection. I was sporting an exact replica of Sam's jacket, but in my size. The green jacket with grey sleeves was exactly like Sam's, they only difference being the “T” instead on an “S” in the corner.
“So...? Do you like it? I was gonna get you a cropped one, but I didn't think you'd like it much. It fits well, right? I mean I didn't have like, measurements or anything, so I wasn't sure the sleeves would be too long, or short, It's not too big is it? I wasn't sure if you wanted a tight one or not and-” He stopped talking when I hugged him.
“Thank you, Sam. I love it.” I tightened my arms around him, “This is the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me,” I whispered.
Someone behind me whistled loudly, “Get in there Sam!” It just had to be Brandon, “Use protection kids!” He shouted and ran off.
We pulled apart as people around us stared, “Way to ruin the moment, moron!” Sam called after him. “I think we should get out of here, come on, let's pay so we can grab dinner.”

The waiter led us to a table for two and handed us menus as we sat.
“Thank you.” I offered with a smile.
“I'm Chris, and I'll be your waiter for day, when you're ready to order give me a call. What would you like to drink?” He spoke as if the verse had been rehearsed multiple times.
“I'll take a lemonade, Tatty?” Sam looked at me expectantly.
“Oh, erm, I'll have a water,”
“You sure?” Sam asked and I nodded, “A lemonade and a water please.”
“Okay, give me a wave when you're ready to order,” Chris said. He looked about Sam's age, with dirty blond hair that hung over his face. He was tall and well built, and he gave me a once over before leaving.
“You know, when I you said you'd buy me dinner, I was expecting McDonald's or KFC.” I said smugly. I was shocked when he led me into Frankie's and Benny's.
