His arms wound around me and took each of my hands. If I didn't think Hayden hated me, I would say he was definitely trying to make a move on me.
"There are six strings" he took my hand as he talked moving them over each string "E, B, G, D, A, E"
"This is C" he hummed in my ear placing my fingers in the correct position."And if you move your fingers like this, it turns into G."
I tried to strum on my own but I just missed some notes. "No" Hayden corrected. "Stop thinking, just feel" I turned my head towards him and realised how close we were. Hayden's eyes were intense, but I could feel an imaginary pull. It was as if somebody tied two strings onto our hearts, tugging at them when it deemed for a moment.
"F*ck it" Hayden muttered before he leaned closer, crashing his lips to mine. It was nothing like his brothers. Dare I say it was better. Heat pooled between us and I pulled back as a turmoil of emotions filled my body.
"Holy he-" I jumped from the couch practically flinging the guitar at Hayden. "Uh that was um nice. Thanks. Got to go though you know busy busy" I rambled as I went out the door into the main area of the store. My face was red and I couldn't even look at the cashier as I hastily left.
I was walking out of the music store my heart pounding after the encounter with Hayden. I didn't understand why my palms got sweaty, my heart raced, and I cared deeply about what Hayden was thinking about. I needed to clear my head that much was sure.
My next stop was the library. Entering the big building I looked in awed at the quaint library. Though the outside is huge, the inside looked like a tiny version of heaven. A little coffee shop was pushed into the corner, desks lined the other side and in between was a maze of books.
I realised then the building was so big because the upstairs doubled as the librarian's house and the back room was a little reading nook, with bean bags and everything for little ones.
My hands brushed over the books as I figured my way through the titles. History of Chanyana I picked it up and tucked it under my arms. Then walking around I spotted a classic, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. It was a good read so I easily picked it up, making my way to the front and checking out the books. The librarian wouldn't let me leave without a library card so I acquired one to.
I decided to go to the park and start to read some of the books.
Kids were playing on the playground when I got to the park. It was nice hearing the sounds of children laughing, or the soft breeze of the forest surrounding them. This community was truly unique. It would be a great place to call home. In a strange way I could see myself living here. I've always wanted to live in a tight knit community, where everybody knew everybody and all members supported each other.
Walking towards a bench I didn't get far before something tackled me, ending with me sprawled on the ground. My eyes were up towards the sky as I tried to wrap my brain on what just happened. Then a face popped into my view.
"Sorry Miss" the little boy said. "Didn't see you there, I was playing too hard with my buddies." He held his hand out to me and yanked me up with all his strength, which was surprisingly a lot for his size.
"I know you!" he suddenly exclaimed as I fixed the summer dress I had on, one that I borrowed from Angel. "I saved you"
He puffed up his chest in a proud way. "Oh did you now?" I asked thinking he was playing a game or something.
"Yea I found you on the porch. All the men were gone for the full moon, and the girls were in the garden. Us kids, had to stay with Mrs. Burstein, even though she's old as a dinosaur and doesn't watch us very well. That's why I'm there, because I'm tough and can protect people." he trailed off as he spotted a young girl by the fountain and waved wildly at her.
"Hey kid, focus" I said snapping my fingers in his face.
"Oh yea! I'm not a kid by the way, I'm Samuel. Anyways I snuck off with my mate, I love her with all my heart" he sighed as he looked at the girl by the fountain another time. I ignored his term mate, finding it funny how he used the same word as the people in the van. "Well we went to go sneak into Alpha Hunter's house and saw you on the floor bleeding. Susan was really freaking out so I sent her to go find Angel in the fields. Then I shifted and ran all the way to find Alpha. All 15 miles in 20 minutes, it's super fast and Beta Hayden said I was really brave. Hayden went crazy when he saw you. That's what happens when you have a mate. I mean I didn't see it since Alpha and Beta ran faster and got there 10 minutes earlier than everybody else, I just heard Alpha and Angel talking about Hayden. Nobody even told me that you had woken up." He pouted before throwing his arms around me. "I'm glad you're okay"
Awkwardly I patted his back, my eyes widened and all I could think was, 'What the hell is he talking about'. One thing did stick out to me.
"What do you mean you shifted" I just assume he meant like a transformer or something and was exaggerating the miles and time. But something was off, his word choice, everything, and a nagging feeling in my stomach told me to ask this question.
"It's SUPER cool" he yelled grabbing my hand and yanking me toward the forest. "Follow me. I'm the first one of my friends to do it. Alpha says I'm going to be really strong when I'm older."
When we were on the edge and out of eyesight he suddenly yanked off his shirt and I stared at the little boy in shock.
"What are you doing" Then I stared in shock as his bones started to move in his skin, and his face morphed into a snout before a full out baby wolf was in front of me.
"No that did not just happen" I squeezed my eyes shut and shielded myself with my arms by wrapping them around my waist.
I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder, the grip was tight.
"I think we need to talk" Hayden said when I turned my head in his direction. I quickly pushed his hand off of me and briskly walked with the help of my crutches to the park area following the path to go to the main house where I was staying. Hayden didn't say anything else but I could just feel him walking closely behind me.
'This isn't real, I'll wake up and this whole dream will be silly' Thoughts kept circling in my head, just in case I pinched my arm and yelped when I could feel the whole thing.
"It's real" Hayden muttered as we arrived on the porch. I just let out a huff and tried to slam the door in his face. Hayden placed a foot in the door, also putting a hand on it. I hit his foot as hard as I could with my crutch but he wouldn't budge. Then the door was pushed forcefully forward causing me to stumble back and fall onto my butt. His eyes flashed a bright gold as he glared at me on the floor. His body towered over me as he stood in the doorway, he silently observed me.
"What's going on here" Hunter's voice seemed to break Hayden's intense gaze. My eyes switched to the two twins before I burst into hysterias.
