General POV

It was a Saturday night and although it was the weekend, Anna and Brittany still made sure that the girls were in bed sleeping by 9pm. They usually went down without a fight, unless Maddie 'wasn't sleepy'. It was currently 11:10pm and thunder claps could be heard from outside.

"Babe, do you think we should go and cuddle down with the girls? You know what they get like during storms." Brittany questioned her wife. They are occupying the living room couch at the moment.

"No, we should give them a little while. They might not even wake up. Stop worrying." Sharing a quick kiss, the brunette pulls her wife up to a standing position, before taking her hand and pulling her up the stairs to their bedroom.

"Right, sleep, okay?"

"Fine. But don't tell me they will sleep through the storm. You know I'm right." The redhead sighs.

"Goodnight Britt." Anna laughs.

"Goodnight Babe."

Not even half an hour later, Brittany's head was resting on Anna's chest and she was softly snoring. Anna, however, wasn't sleeping. She knew her wife was indeed correct. It would only be a short amount of time until either Scarlett or Maddie were crying.

Surprising the brunette, after hearing one cry of "Mummy.... Mama!" she heard something else. Listening carefully to the monitor, Scarlett's gentle voice could be heard.

"Britt? Babe, wake up." Nudging her wife slightly, she succeeds as the redhead lifts her head up.

"What?"

"Just listen."

They both go silent, listening through the monitor.

"Moo, it's okay."

"Me want Mummy." The youngest girl sobbed.

"No, it's okay Mads. I think I can give you this. It helped me when I used to cry." The two mummies instantly know what she's talking about.

"Not Blankie? Surely..." Brittany was shocked, Scarlett never parted with Blankie.

Blankie was a baby pink coloured small, square shaped blanket. Alexis Knapp (Stacie from Pitch Perfect) had brought it for Scarlett when she was a baby. It was her favourite. She'd always hug it when she got scared, but would never part with it when it came to bed time. She wouldn't even allow Anna or Brittany to wash it in fear of it not being back in her bed for night time.

"Pwomise me?" Hearing Madison sound so vulnerable and scared broke Anna and Brittany's heart.

"I promise!"

Wanting to be able to see what was going on for themselves, the two made their way down the hallway to the slightly open bedroom door.

They heard correct. Peeking through the gap in the doorway, they could see Scarlett sitting next to her little sister on her toddler bed. She was showing her what to do with the blanket to stop her from being scared.

"You put him like this, on your face." Watching Scarlett place her Blankie over one side of Maddie's face, Anna's heart was melting. It was so cute. She'd never seen them interact with each other like this before.

"Mummy and Mama are so proud of you two." Brittany couldn't keep it in anymore, so she took her wife's hand and lead her over to their daughters.

"Moo was scared Mummy. So I just gived her Blankie."

"You gave her Blankie. I know, and I am so proud of you. You stopped Mads from crying and you shared your favourite blanket with her. Well done Baby." The redhead kisses her daughter on the head before reaching down to give Maddie a kiss.

"I'm brave, I don't need him anymore. Maddie can have him for when she gets scared."

"Good girl, that's very kind of you." Just when the two thought their children couldn't be any cuter, Madison proved them wrong.

"Tank you Scar. I ove you." It made it even cuter that she still couldn't pronounce her 'l's or 'th's.

"It's okay. I'm a big sister now. I don't need him. Love you too." Scarlett could be so grown up with the way she spoke sometimes.

The two sisters shared a cuddle before Anna pulled everyone in for a family hug.

"Who would like to cuddle and watch movies until we fall to sleep?"

Three hands immediately shot up, making the brunette giggle at her wife's child-like behaviour.

"Come on then, we'll make a big bed in the living room."

And that's exactly what they did. Brittany laid on one end of their handmade bed, Maddie next to her, followed by Scarlett, with Anna on the other end. The first movie they decided on was Matilda. Her magic powers amazed Madison. The little girl was cuddled into Brittany's chest with Blankie covering one half of her face. She slept soundly throughout the rest of the night, all thanks to her big sister Scarlett.
