(Long time no see eh. Well, I'm back, kind of. Don't expect frequent updates, I'm slowly starting getting back into the grove of writing.)
This world is beautiful, yet kind of bland. I'm so used to purple and white from the end, seeing the colors of the real world excite me. But the thoughts Dagran's ocean view from my room, the jungle not from where I played, the sandy hills from Urulu, even the tall Twilight trees. That's one of the big things I miss from that world.
"It's not much, but it's home to us. And having a group of master builders helps bring life to the land." I look over strangely at the wizard. How did he know what I was thinking about. "I can read you mind. It's a skill I picked up a long time ago, and I can tell you've picked it up also." I squint my eyes at him, thinking of something to say back. When nothing comes to mind, I just close my eyes and smile.
"You have an eye for observing things many people miss. Tell me, how long have you been a wizard?" I don't think he was born with the power, he would have his right of passage. But I want to know how old he is.
"A lot longer than I would care to admit, maybe 50 years." I look at him wide eyed. He looks no older than me, and I'm 19. There's no way he could be over 50. Unless Ether's power does something to his age. "I was around 20 when I gained the power, I haven't aged since that day. It does have it's down sides to not aging, I'll never fall in love. I'll out live them and I'll have to watch them die while I live an immortal life." He continues to walk with his head held high and his voice strong, but I could tell he was scared of that thought. I could see that his hands were clinched up.
"I was told that a wizard can never fall in love because of that reason. But I know for a fact that doesn't stop them. I remember one day a long time ago, a wizard came and visited my home. He came with a woman and a child. I thought that was his sister, but I later found out they were married, and have been for 4 years. That was their daughter. Both of them were wizards, and they knew they weren't suppose to get married. But love shows no bounds." I always told myself that I was going to get married one day, everyone thought it was going to be to Divisor Gains' little brother. Looking at it now from an older wizards view, I don't even thing my father would allow me in the kingdom.
"Was your father a king?" I nearly ran into him at that question. Was my dad the king? For all I know, Spark could be dead or, the kingdom could have expanded to a point Spark couldn't take care of it. He is old after all. "You don't fave to talk about him if you don't want to."
"He was a prince last I saw him. I don't really like to talk about him, but one of these days I'll have to tell someone about what happen. One of these days I'll have to go back." I look over to my left to see the silhouette of a large tree. "I'm guessing one of them live in there?" He laughs a little, looking over in that direction. His hood covers most of his face, but it's far enough back to where you can see small parts of his hair and the tip of his nose. Which is a little adorable now that I think of it.
"Thank you." I feel my face grow hot as he turn farther toward me. Oh lord.
"Will you stop reading my mind, my thoughts are meant to hidden from others minds. Would you like it if I were to listen to your thoughts?" At that, I tap into my powers and listen to his hidden response.
'Of course I don't want her to listen to my thoughts, she'll know.' Know what? 'Not cool.' I laugh out loud and I watch him glare daggers at me. 'You know, there are things in my mind that many people don't want to know about. For all you know,' He turns all the way around and looks me dead in the eye. 'I could be a murderer planning to kill you here and you could do nothing about it.' The look in his eye tells me that he's not kidding and I can't tell if that excites or scares me.
We both just stand there looking at each other, him with a face of seriousness, me with a face of shock. I don't know how long we were standing there, but he was the one to look away. I tuned out of his mind and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I could tell he let one out, his body seemed to relax a bit as soon as he turned away. What just happened?
"I'm sorry that happened, I couldn't control m thoughts for a second. Another thing that's happened since I gained the power. That's why I dislike people in my head. I'm sorry if I scared you." I could tell he was being censer, but I didn't have time to respond because the next thing I know, I'm running to try and catch up with him.
"Hey! Wait up!" I know I can keep up with him, but gods, this man can run. "Hey! Why in such a big hurry! It's not like the tree's on fire!" I hear him laugh as he keeps running. "What's so funny?"
"That's the thing, the tree is on fire."
