It had only been a couple months since the end of the second great shinobi war, at that moment Tsunade realised she was pregnant. At first she believed the waves of sickness were linked to her depression from losing her fiancé but little did she know...

They say pregnancies are something positive and celebrated so shouldn't who discovered their pregnancy be happy, right?

Well... not in Tsunade's case.

The world had been so cruel to Tsunade, first her brother then her fiancé. Dan's death broke her all over again, but learning she's carrying his child. The shock threw her off balance all over again.

She was definitely pregnant, there was no denying it but she didn't believe it, she couldn't. It wasn't an illusion.

She was scared she wouldn't be able to raise the child on her own, in her mind the child needed both parents otherwise she'd fail as a mother and the child wouldn't grow up normally or the child would grow up hating and resenting her for it's father's death. The blonde Sannin wouldn't stand for it.

She was already a ninja and a medic with lots of responsibilities, would she even have the time to raise the child? Not to mention it would be complicated, financially speaking.

No, she was not meant to be a mother... she knew that deep down.

Besides, who's to know when another war will break out? It could happen anytime, it could be soon. Even this thought terrified Tsunade, what mother would want her child to grow up in this world?

The shinobi world, this cruel shinobi world.

The cruel shinobi world where so many innocent people lose their lives everyday because of these stupid wars.

Even when they're at peace, a very fragile peace so many still die from dangerous missions. Leaving their families helpless in mourning.

No, she had decided she did not want her child to live in such a world and the last thing she wanted was to risk losing the child too, losing her brother and fiancé was enough heartache. She knew it was selfish but the thought of so many innocent people losing their lives had kept replaying in her mind.

She came to the conclusion to get rid of it whilst she before it became too late, after a lot of thinking and debating practically all day and night weighing the pros and cons, to her only the cons stood out. She kept telling herself there were no pros, so she was sure she wouldn't regret it in the end. At least, that's what she thought...

Abortion was a rather an unknown concept let alone practice, being seen as barbaric and an unnatural practice. However, Tsunade had heard about it. Though she hadn't a clue how to proceed with it, no other sane medic would accept to help her do so, especially in Konoha. She couldn't speak for other villages or countries, not that any would be at her skill level when it comes to the medical field. She would have to perform the procedure herself. She didn't have time to lose, she had already wasted enough time.

The blonde Sannin quickly sat up before throwing her legs over the side of the bed and abruptly got up from her bed, the same one she spent her days and nights since she discovered she was pregnant, thinking and replaying everything that had happened till this point. She hadn't even realised tears were falling from her eyes, streaming down her tired face.
