Now, before you read this novel, take note:
Laoshi is world-building here, so you will notice a lot of alternating between two worlds, well that's because the story exists inside two worlds. The original novel is written in IsiXhosa and Zhongwen, but of course I had to write in English for all of you, because you matter to me. Now, you will occasionally find Zhongwen phrases written in Pinyin (without the tonal accents of course) and some in IsiXhosa to remind you of where we actually are here. But Laoshi will put translations there. If a phrase is repeated throughout the novel, then obviously, I won't repeatedly translate it.
I will occasionally break your hearts in the novel, only to mend them later.
If you've read my other work, then you'd know I leave breadcrumbs and cash them in later. So, read with that in mind.
Enjoy the novel, immerse yourself into this world.
And yes, this is a prequel to all my wuxia-inspired works. It'll make sense later...
