The night's cool breeze swept through her starlit hair, temporarily blocking her view of the garden. Just as she sweeps some strands off her face, strong arms snake around her waist from behind and pulls her back until she's resting against a wall of warmth.
"Can't you stay? Here?" the deep cool voice asks, his breath fanning her cheek and face close to hers. "With me?"
A small sad smile crept up Galilea's lips. "What?" she asked softly and sarcastically. "Regretting the very deal you made with me now?" She lifts her left hand until she can feel his cheek and hard jaw. Stroking it softly, she spoke, "Royals shouldn't go against their word, you know."
"I know," he muttered, aware of what that statement meant to her. "I know but..."
Hesitation. A breath.
Then she's spun around by those large hands so quickly she gasped. Hard and warm body pressed against her soft one, Prince Kosmos stared hard down at Galilea with a look in his emerald eyes that told her just where things went wrong. Leaning down, he pressed his forehead against hers, his raven hair tickling her brows and lips so close she could feel his breath on her own.
Before he could utter a word, a vision suddenly invades Galilea's mind and whiplashes her into a whirlwind of scenes.
Morgana still alive and hiding in a forest.
Garen dead in a pool of his own blood, her hands raised to find the same blood on them.
A riot, a rebellion.
Kosmos taking an arrow to the chest for her.
Galilea gasped and fell onto the floor. The price of reincarnation meant she was born as another god's descendant. Unfortunately for her, Galilea was now the descendant of her former father's enemy, the goddess of time, Oriana. This meant she inherited the goddess's power of clairvoyance, earning her visions of the future she'd rather not see nor tell.
"What's wrong?" Prince Kosmos asked, his face full of concern and worry and hands on her arms to steady her. "Was it another vision?"
Galilea looked up at him and could only utter a sob. "We can't," she whispered.
Before he could ask another question, Galilea was already on her feet and rushing out of the balcony into the room. However, she couldn't leave immediately as Prince Kosmos holds out a hand to catch her wrist.
Turning, she saw the now dark shadow in his eyes and she knew he was angry.
"You know I'll chase you to the ends of the earth," he said in a low but cautious tone.
But Galilea only extended him a sad smile. "I know."
Then he let go of her wrist and she sped out of the room, disappearing into the night.
