Epic showdown between Todd and Percy

(Todd)

I had never seen anyone like him before. Everyone from the New World had pale skin and thin features. This boy, or man he should say was lean, but muscular with olive tanned skin. His eyes were practically glowing with blue shine but hiding a guilty past Todd knew too well. His sword was gripped in his hand, the bronze blade sharp enough to slice a limb clean off. He glanced at me, a cheeky grin creeping up his face. " Well let's see how good you really are then." He said. With ease he swung his sword around his shoulder his arm bringing the blade around me as it shone dangerously. I ducked immediately, feeling the weapon brush past my head. A few strands of my maroon hair drifted onto the ground.

(Percy)

I swung Riptide with full force, of course knowing it would pass through him unharmed. What I was unprepared for was the speed he ducked at. Surprised, my sword followed through as I leaned into a lunge, jamming my knee onto the ground and halting to a stop. My eyebrows furrowed, looking back up at this boy, around the same age as Nico ( of course his logical age ).He made no attempt to attack me back so I summoned a wall of water behind me , a mass that swallowed him, slamming him onto the concrete wall. Meanwhile I was ,of course,dry and standing.

My eyes widened in bewildermeant as I saw a great flood engulfing me in its vicious tides. How could a person ( is he even one?) have this strange unfamiliar power? How is it possible? My legs collapsed underneath me as I felt the force come down upon my body. I had no experience with water or swimming cause Mayor Prentiss had cut down all the centres and stuff. Damn you- I thought. Damn you and the Mayor and Aaron-

(Percy)

That was when I noticed, a quiet hum in the hair, like an angry bee constantly at your ear. I caught words like Dam, Prentiss and Aaron and other words that meant no sense to me, coming from- where is it coming from? The boy was still on the ground, struggling to get up. I unsheathed my blade, made of celestial bronze, and waded towards him.

His footsteps grew closer and closer until I sensed him looming over me. He had this stupid grin on his face that I wanted to wipe off so badly and he announced like it was the best thing in the world " Well, I guess you didn't really impress me , kid." His grip on his sword became tighter and he raised it above him and brought it down and down and down onto my neck but he didn't know what I could do to him. Drop it, to the side ,I thought , aiming it directly at his head. I concentrated at his eyes, staring them as I sent out a low buzz , a warning. He froze.\

(Percy)

Just before Riptide came down on him, I stopped. Without meaning to. I could hear " drop it" in my mind, but it wasn't from him. It was like this voice in my mind. Then, I felt it. White hot daggers were driving into my skull, causing me to gasp slightly and my knife dropping to the ground with a clunk and a thud.

(Todd)

I snatched it instantly , backing up from the astonished boy. His sword weighed heavy in my arms, the long blade was made of a material of bronze and something else something that made it shine so powerfully and weigh this much, yet the boy looked effortless using it.

(Percy)

He held my sword in his hands, looking at it. I stammered, " H-how did y-ou -" , and pointing to my head. He looked up at me and replied, " Same question I would ask you about the water," with a casual shrug. And I thought I was the most powerful demigod! This mortal boy defeated me. I held up my hands," Okay man. You're insane, like good. Wait, let me bring you to Annabeth, then we can talk about ... this." I slowly walked up to me and took my sword back. I gestured for him to follow. His eyes gazed at me, a deep shade of brown that I could tell that he hid a trauma he faced deep inside. It were the most painful eyes to look at, even worse than the son of Hades.

(Annabeth)

I had never heard of Prentisstown before , or the new world, and the way they landed to Camp Half Blood is crazy. Apparently , they were travelling the world together , got into a random taxi, which so happened to be the grey sisters' , and teleported them into our universe. Great. Viola reminded me of me when I was younger- smart, loyal and needs to always keep his boyfriend out of trouble. Her hair was cut short, brunette but with hairs of slight grey at the back. It made me wonder if she had once held up the sky like us.

" So... you and Todd. Do you guys have any special powers or skills, like us demigods?" I asked her.

She rested her chin on her arm. Her eyes seemed far away in thought.

" We come from Prentisstown. Where all the men have noise, which is like thinking but everyone can hear it. It cannot be cured and men including Todd have it. Sometimes you hear it, sometimes you don't. Depend how you can control it."

" Thinking is their power?" I managed to say. Viola smiled briefly, " Well some people like Todd, can send out waves of noise to fire at people, or even control them. You can't even see it, you can only feel and hear it so it's extremely hard to dodge."

Just then , Percy and Viola's Todd came bounding over. Even though she say they were both 14, he looked similar to Percy's build. Paler skin, slimmer but around the same height. His dark hair was ruffled in the wind,revealing a pair of raven black eyes. Percy, that troublemaker I had been annoyed with for years until I learned to love him, flashed me that grin of his.  He went over to me, giving me a kiss on the cheek., and whispered , " This Todd Hewitt might be even better than most demigods. " Hearing that, Todd blushed, brushing his hand through his hair, " I mean I'm not a demigod, I don't have cool powers like Percy's water control thing and that sick sword." Percy asked him," Did you think I was going to stab you?" The boy frowned, " Yes. It looked liked it, even though I can't read your noise." I glanced at Percy, who was trying not to laugh. " I wouldn't never harm anyone just because I feel like it. Anaklusmos, or Riptide, is made of celestial bronze, a special type of bronze that passes through and doesn't harm mortals. "

(Todd)

I gazed at it in amazement, a sword that could kill monsters but not hurt normal people!? My noise glowed yellow as we walked along their camp. Percy showed me around while Viola went with Annabeth who brought her to the weapon shed. " Aw Man. I don't know what to say. I can't even imagine what you've been through , before coming here." He started to say. My eyes were fixed on the canopy of trees above their hills, their leaves rustling in the wind. They were so quiet, soundless giants watching over us. I was used to the trees muttering amongst themselves that I couldn't help but wonder what they were thinking.

" Nothing like Camp Half-Blood?"

"What?"

"I meant where you're from."

"Oh, no. Not like this. Definitely not."

I paused. " It's so quiet. "

 My mind reeled me back to when I was thirteen, stuck in the horrific New Prentisstown controlled by the mayor and when I killed, oh god, I did kill.

I saw all my nightmares unfolding at that moment- that time the Mayor almost drowned Viola and when me and Davy oh god davy had to band all those women and how they died of the infection and 1017 and his group of effing stupid spackle and Manchee my dog when he was killed by Aaron my dog my dog and- I just couldn't take it anymore. My legs buckled under a crushing weight and I collapsed.
