You were sitting in the corner of the sofa, knees close to your chest as you had your arms wrapped around your legs. You had scanned the apartment for a thousand times over, but it seemed as if there was no way out. The building was a skyscraper and even if you could open one of the large glass windows, no one would hear you scream. The door was locked with a code and fingerprint which was the first thing you noticed as you shot from the bed you woke up in and headed for the door.

Your kidnapper did not run after you because he knew perfectly well you had nowhere to go. Your heart was beating harshly against your chest as tears kept on streaming down your cheeks.

"Can I do something to make you feel better?" asked a deep voice that made you jump. You looked up at Namjoon with big wide eyes wet with tears.

He sat down on the sofa beside you but you scooted away immediately. Namjoon's gaze lingered on your calves and the bruises and cuts up your legs. His chest tensed and his eyes snapped to yours, making you look down.

"Look at me," he demanded and you obeyed in the first try. "Would you rather return to your family, kitten?"

"Yes, please," you nodded quickly as more tears gathered in your eyes.

"You would?" asked Namjoon and traced a gentle finger across the bruises on your legs. You winced at his touch but he did not pull away. You stared at him, finding yourself tremble. How did he know?

You couldn't say anything.

Namjoon sighed and took back his hand. He was being patient with you because it was your first day after all and he knew it wasn't going to be easy.

He tried to get you to eat something yet although the food would seem appetizing in different circumstances, you couldn't get anything down at the moment. The smell of food itself made you nauseous.

"You haven't eaten anything since yesterday, I know you didn't," said your kidnapper as he sat across the table from you. Your stomach gave an even worse squeeze whenever the man spoke. With your eyes on the plate, you could feel small drops of sweat gather on your temples.

"Hey, look at me," said Namjoon and reached his long arms to you. He cupped your cheeks, feeling the fever burning through your skin. It was from nerves and fear.

Your eyes flickered between his, filling with tears.

"P-please, don't... don't h-hurt me," you whispered as your tears hit the top of his thumbs, "I'll... I'll eat..." you tried again, your voice cracking as you shut your eyes close and your chest cracked beneath a heart-breaking sob.

Namjoon could not help but stare at you astounded. Once he woke from his thoughts, he caressed your cheeks with his thumbs and brushed away your tears.

"Shh, it's okay," said your kidnapper softly, "You can eat later, just calm down, kitten," he whispered to you and kissed your forehead. You winced beneath the touch of his lips, not sure what was going to happen. When he took his hands off you, you were so surprised that he did not want to hit you that you broke down in a cry. Your chest trembled with sobs as your head leaned down against the table and just cried.

Later in the day, you managed to eat a little bit yet only when your kidnapper wasn't looking. He still knew tho.

As you laid in your bed, you wondered first how he found you without telling him your name at the bookstore, yet you could not understand for the life of you, why you were here. The man did not make a pass at you, he did not beat you, he even gave you food. You wanted to know why, why you? Your parents were unable to provide any kind of ransom, not that they would bother even if Namjoon asked them for money. It did not seem like he needed it either. The apartment was the greatest extravagance you had ever seen.

"My room is right beside yours if you need anything," said the all too familiar voice. You sat up in bed, heart caught in your throat. It was already dark outside. It's been over 24 hours since you arrived here. Your kidnapper was leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed over his chest. You stared at him timidly as he studied you before he made his way to the bed. You backed away into the headboard, wrapping your arms around your knees.

"I find it very strange how you're so obedient and calm," confessed Namjoon as he towered over you. "I thought you'd be kicking and screaming."

You thought so yourself but you had already learned with your family that you always made things worse when you tried to fight back. You did not even want to imagine the things he would do to you if you made one wrong move.
