"We're here." He says, shaking you awake after having touched down.
You jerk awake and scream suddenly, "H-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" You rub the sleep out of your eyes and realize that you weren't at a party, but still in the helicopter, "Oh wait."
"Already dreaming about the party?" He inquires. And you nod sheepishly, "Well, thank you. You got the date right." You look at the clock and notice it was ten minutes after twelve on August 21st.
"Yes!" You cheer and give him a tight hug, "Congratulations! You're two decades and 5 years old!"
"Do you really have to keep trying to make me sound older than I really am?"
"What?" You ask innocently, "I've only ever been stating your real age."
"Yes, but in ways that make me sound like I'm double the age I really am." He states and he opens the gate for you.
"Ya ya...Admit it you're old."
"Twenty five is not old! You're only ten years younger than me!"
"And don't you forget it!" You tease as you sashay down the garden path.
He was about to counter that point when he noticed something, "That's strange..."
"What is?" You ask, turning to face him. He had his shot gun drawn and you immediately went ridged. "Why do you have your gun out..."
"Shh..." He says, beckoning you to come closer to him. You obey him and draw you bow and prepare and arrow in the process, "Something's not right..." He whispers close to your ear.
"What's not right?" You ask cautiously, making your voice so quiet, even you could barely hear it.
"Normally, Briane would be out attending to the garden by now, and Ryan would've been at the gate to greet us."
"Maybe they're inside planning a surprise party from your birthday and are all hiding."
He shakes his head, "I doubt it, they know I hate surprises and even if they were, I'd be able to hear their muffled voices and laughing." You both cautiously approach the door, but you notice the lock was already broken off.
"That's not good..." You trail off, feeling all of the colour leave your face.
"Y/n you take the left side, and I'll take the right." He whispers nodding to the side doors, "If they're still inside, they'll be expecting us. The helicopter isn't exactly quiet." By 'they' you could tell he meant who every broke in. It crushed you to know he didn't mean the other butlers, because... well, it was eerily quiet and wreaked of blood. You nod and stealthily make your way to the left side entrance. The door was already unlocked and you lightly taped the door open with your foot. The lights were out. It was early in the morning, too early for there to be natural lighting from the sun. The remaining rays of the moon were shining through the large skylight over head. You crossed the foyer only to hear the sounds of glass shards crack under your feet. You winced whenever you made the slightest sound, but it was too dark for you to find a quieter path. The smell of blood grew more pungent that you could practically taste the iron on your tongue. Many died, recently in fact, by the smell, and with the smallest bit of hope, you hoped it wasn't those you thought. You pressed your back against the wall that turned into the kitchen and you took a deep breath. You quickly turned into the kitchen and pointed your arrow around the room. You took in your surroundings: Nothing. You gazed met the floor, when you saw the most horrible sight. On the ground lay at least four bodies. All of which were of people you recognized and loved. You bit on down on your lip to keep yourself from wailing in agony, You bent down over each one of them to check their pulses. Dead. All of them. Their skin was as white and cold as porcelain and their eyes glassy. Tears rolled down your face, but your quickly wiped them away, you couldn't be crying now. The murderer might still be in the mansion and you needed to be alert. You crossed over the bodies, silently praying for them to be happy in a better place before you entered the living room.
